1 Et alors dans la 1e année de la 7e semaine de ce jubilé Noah planta des vignes sur la montagne appelée Lubar, une des montagnes d’Ararat sur laquelle l’arche s’était arrêtée, et dans la 4e année elles portèrent des fruits et il en surveillait les fruits et les ramassa le 7e mois de cette année.
2 Il en fit ensuite du vin et le mit dans un pot et le conserva jusqu’à la 5e année, jusqu’au 1er jour de la tête du 1er mois.
3 Et il célébra le jour de cette fête avec joie et fit un sacrifice au feu à 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) d’un jeune bœuf et un bouc et sept moutons d’un an chacun et un petit des chèvres pour faire expiation pour lui et ses enfants.
4 Et il prépara le petit en premier et plaça une quantité du sang de sa chair sur l’autel qu’il avait fait et déposa toute la graisse sur l’autel où il faisait le sacrifice au feu, ainsi que pour le bœuf et le bouc et le mouton, et il déposa toute leur chair sur l’autel.
5 Et il ajouta et déposa sur le dessus toutes leurs offrandes d’huile et il aspergea ensuite de vin le feu qu’il avait allumé sur l’autel et il plaça l’encens sur l’autel qui produit une odeur douce qui monta favorablement devant 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) son Elohim.
6 Et il se réjouit et but de ce vin, lui et ses enfants avec joie. Et il faisait nuit quand il alla dans sa tente et étant saoul il s’allongea et s’endormit et s’était découvert dans sa tente lorsqu’il dormait.
7 Et Ham vit Noah son père nu et sortit le dire à ses deux frères dehors. Et Shem prit son habit et se leva, lui et Japheth, et ils placèrent l’habit sur leurs épaules et marchèrent à reculons et couvrirent la nudité de leur père, leurs visages étant détournés.
8 Et Noah se réveilla de son sommeil et apprit tout ce que son plus jeune fils lui avait fait et il maudit son fils et dit : Maudit soit Canaan, il sera un serviteur, esclave de ses frères.
9 Et il bénit Shem et dit : Béni soit 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) Elohim de Shem, et Canaan sera son serviteur. Elohim élargira Japheth et Elohim habitera dans l’habitation de Shem et Canaan sera son serviteur.
10 Et Ham apprit que son père avait maudit son plus jeune fils et fut mécontent qu’il ait maudit son fils et il quitta son père, lui et ses fils avec lui, Cush et Mizraim et Put et Canaan.

12 Et Japheth vit cela et devint envieux de son frère et lui aussi se construit une ville et il appela son nom d’après celui de sa femme Adataneses.
13 Et Shem habita avec son père Noah et il construisit une ville près de son père sur la montagne et lui aussi appela son nom d’après celui de sa femme Sedeqetelebab.
14 Et voici ces 3 villes sont près du mont Lubar ; Sedeqetelebab devant la montagne à l’EST, et Naeltamauk au SUD, et Adataneses vers l’OUEST.
12 Et Japheth vit cela et devint envieux de son frère et lui aussi se construit une ville et il appela son nom d’après celui de sa femme Adataneses.
13 Et Shem habita avec son père Noah et il construisit une ville près de son père sur la montagne et lui aussi appela son nom d’après celui de sa femme Sedeqetelebab.
14 Et voici ces 3 villes sont près du mont Lubar ; Sedeqetelebab devant la montagne à l’EST, et Naeltamauk au SUD, et Adataneses vers l’OUEST.
15 Et ce sont les fils de Shem, Elam et Asshur et Arpachshad, ce [fils] était né 2 ans après le déluge, et Lud et Aram.
16 Les fils de Japheth, Gomer et Magog et Madai et Javan, Tubal et Meshech et Tiras. Ce sont les fils de Noah.
17 Et dans le 28e jubilé Noah commença d’enjoindre les fils de ses fils aux ordonnances et commandements et à tous les jugements qu’il connaissait et il recommanda à ses fils d’observer la justice et de couvrir la honte de leur chair et de bénir leur créateur et d’honorer père et mère et d’aimer leur prochain et garder leurs âmes contre la fornication et l’impureté et toute iniquité.
18 Car à cause de ces 3 choses le déluge survint sur la terre, nommément dû à la fornication par laquelle les vigiles allèrent à l’encontre de la Torah de leurs ordonnances avec les filles des hommes et se prirent d’eux-mêmes des femmes parmi toutes celles qu’ils choisirent et causèrent le commencement de l’impureté ;
19 et ils portèrent des fils, les naphidim, et ils étaient tous haineux et ils dévoraient l’un après l’autre, et les géants frappaient le naphil et le naphil frappait le eljo et le eljo humain, et un humain un autre. Et chacun se livrait soi-même à faire l’iniquité et à verser beaucoup de sang jusqu’à ce que la terre fût remplie d’iniquité.
20 Et après cela ils péchèrent contre les bêtes et les oiseaux et contre tout ce qui bouge et marche sur terre, et beaucoup de sang fut versé sur terre suivant tout phantasme et arrogant désir de malveillance imaginé par les hommes, sans interruption.
21 Et 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) détruisit toute chose de la surface de la terre à cause de la cruauté de leurs actions et à cause du sang qu’ils avaient versé au sein de la terre ; il détruisit tout.
18 Car à cause de ces 3 choses le déluge survint sur la terre, nommément dû à la fornication par laquelle les vigiles allèrent à l’encontre de la Torah de leurs ordonnances avec les filles des hommes et se prirent d’eux-mêmes des femmes parmi toutes celles qu’ils choisirent et causèrent le commencement de l’impureté ;

21 Et 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) détruisit toute chose de la surface de la terre à cause de la cruauté de leurs actions et à cause du sang qu’ils avaient versé au sein de la terre ; il détruisit tout.
22 Et je fus sauf, moi et vous mes fils, et toute chose qui entra avec nous dans l’arche. Mais voici, je vois à vos œuvres devant moi que vous ne marchez pas dans la justice mais que vous avez commencé à marcher dans la voie de la destruction et que vous êtes séparés l’un de l’autre et envieux l’un envers l’autre et [ainsi il se passe] mes fils que vous n’êtes pas en harmonie chacun avec son frère.
23 Car je vois et voici, les démons ont commencé [leurs] déraisons contre vous et contre vos enfants, et maintenant je crains pour vous, car après ma mort vous verserez le sang des hommes sur la terre et vous serez détruits de la surface de la terre aussi.
24 Car quiconque verse le sang humain et quiconque mange du sang de n’importe quelle chair sera entièrement détruit de la terre et il ne restera aucun homme qui mange du sang ou qui verse le sang humain sur la terre - il ne restera rien non plus de sa semence ni de descendant(s) vivant(s) sous les cieux, car ils iront dans le sheol, ils descendront dans une place de condamnation et ils seront tous soustraits par une mort violente dans la ténèbre de l’abîme.
25 Il ne se verra pas de sang sur vous de tout le sang déversé aux jours où vous aurez tué des bêtes ou bétail ou n’importe quel ailé sur la terre.
26 Et faites une bonne action pour vos âmes en recouvrant ce qui a été déversé à la surface du sol. Et vous ne serez pas comme celui qui mange avec le sang et gardez-vous de quiconque mange du sang devant vous - couvrez le sang, car ainsi ai-je été commandé de vous témoigner, à vous et vos enfants, conjointement avec toute personne.
27 Ne tolérez pas que l’âme soit mangée avec la chair ; que votre sang qui est votre vie ne soit pas réclamé de la main de toute personne qui [le] verse sur la terre, car la terre sera nettoyée du sang qui a été versé en elle que par le sang de celui qui l’a versé [seulement], ainsi la terre en sera purifiée durant toutes ses générations.
28 Et maintenant mes enfants, écoutez, rendez jugement et justice pour que vous soyez plantés en justice à la surface de la terre entière et votre gloire s’élèvera devant mon Elohim qui me sauva des eaux du déluge.
29 Et voici, vous irez et construirez pour vous des villes et planterez en elles toutes les plantes qui sont sur la terre en plus de tous les arbres portant fruits.
30 Pendant 3 ans le fruit de toute chose qui se mange ne sera pas ramassé, et dans la 4e année son fruit sera considéré comme sacré [et ils offriront les premiers-fruits] acceptables devant le Plus-haut Elohim qui créa le ciel et la terre et toutes choses.
31 Offrez en abondance les prémices du vin et d’huile [comme] premiers-fruits sur l’autel de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) qui reçoit cela, et que ce qui reste soit mangé des serviteurs de la maison de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) devant son autel qui reçoit cela.
32 Et dans la 5e année, faites relâche ; vous relâcherez cela pour la justice et la droiture et vous serez justes et tout ce que vous planterez prospèrera.
33 Car ainsi fit le père de ton père, Hénoc commanda à Methuselah son fils et Methuselah à son fils Lamech et Lamech me commanda toutes ces choses que ses pères lui commandèrent.
34 Et moi aussi je vous donne commandement mes fils, comme Henoc commanda à son fils dans le premier additionné (probablement Jubilé) le même sujet, et ordonna que le fruit de la 4ème année, que les premiers fruits soient offerts sur l'Autel et que le reste soit donné aux Sacrificateurs.
23 Car je vois et voici, les démons ont commencé [leurs] déraisons contre vous et contre vos enfants, et maintenant je crains pour vous, car après ma mort vous verserez le sang des hommes sur la terre et vous serez détruits de la surface de la terre aussi.

בשבוע השביעי בשנה הראשונה בו ביובל הזה נטע נוח גפנים על ההר אשר נחה התיבה עליו ושמו לובָר אחד הרי אררט:
And in the seventh week in the first year thereof, in this jubilee, Noah planted vines on the mountain on which the ark had rested, named Lûbâr, one of the Ararat Mountains,
ותעשינה פרי בשנה הרביעית:
and they produced fruit in the fourth year,
ויצור את פריו ויבצור אותו בשנה ההיא בחודש השביעי ויעש ממנו יין וישימהו בכלי וישמרהו עד השנה החמישית עד היום הראשון הוא ראש החודש הראשון:
and he guarded their fruit, and gathered it in this year in the seventh month.
And he made wine therefrom and put it into a vessel, and kept it until the fifth year, until the first day, on the new moon of the first month.
ויעל אשה לה פר בן בקר ואיל אחד ושבעה כבשים בני שנה ושעיר עזים אחד לכפר בעדו ובעד בניו:
And he celebrated with joy the day of this feast, and he made a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord, one young ox and one ram, and seven sheep, each a year old, and a kid of the goats, that he might make atonement thereby for himself and his sons.
ויעש בראשון את השעיר ויבא את דמו על המזבח אשר עשה ואת כל חלבו שם על המזבח אשר עשה שם את האש:
And he prepared the kid first, and placed some of its blood on the flesh that was on the altar which he had made, and all the fat he laid on the altar where he made the burnt sacrifice,
ומן הפר ומן האיל ומן הכבשים שם את כל בשרם על המזבח וישם עליו את כל מנחותיהם בלולות בשמן:
and the ox and the ram and the sheep, and he laid all their flesh upon the altar.
And he placed all their offerings mingled with oil upon it,
אחרי כן זרק בראשונה יין באש על המזבח וישם לבונה על המזבח ויעל ריח ניחוח לרצון לעלות לפני ה' אלהיו:
and afterwards he sprinkled wine on the fire which he had previously made on the altar, and he placed incense on the altar and caused a sweet savour to ascend acceptable before the Lord his God.
וישמח וישת מן היין הזה הוא ובניו בשמחה רבה:
And he rejoiced and drank of this wine, he and his children with joy.
ויהי ערב ויבוא אל אהלה וישכב שיכור ויישן ויתגל בשנתו בתוך אוהלה:
And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept.
וירא חם את אביו נוח ערום ויצא ויגד לשני אחיו בחוץ:
And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without.
ויקח שֶם את שמלתו ויקום הוא ויפת ויסירו את שמלתו מעל שכמם הפנים אחורנית ויכסו את ערוות אביהם והם פונים אחורנית:
And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward.
ויקץ נוח משנתו וידע את כל אשר עשה לו בנו הקטן:
And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son
ויקלל את בנו ויאמר ארור כנען עבד עבדים יהיה לאחיו:
had done unto him, and he cursed his son and said: "Cursed be Canaan; an enslaved servant shall he be unto his brethren."
ויברך את שם ברוך ה' אלהי שם ויהי כנען עבד לו:
And he blessed Shem, and said: "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant.
ויפת אלהים ליפת וישכון אלהים באהלי שם ויהי כנען עבד לו:
God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant."
וידע חם כי קילל אביו את בנו וייפרד מאת אביו הוא ובניו עמו בכוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען:
And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
ויבן לו עיר ויקרא שמה כשם אשתו נחלת עמק:
And he built for himself a city and called its name after the name of his wife Nê’êlâtamâ’ûk.
וירא יפת ויקנא באחיו ויבן עיר גם הוא ויקרא לה כשם אשתו אדותן ילק:
And Japheth saw it, and became envious of his brother, and he too built for himself a city, and he called its name after the name of his wife ’Adâtanêsês.
ושֶם שכן על פני אביו נוח ויבן עיר אצל אביו על יד ההר ויקרא שמה גם הוא כשם אשתו צדקת לבב:
And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name after the name of his wife Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb.
שלוש הערים האלה קרובים אל ההר לובר צדקת לבב לפני ההר קדמה ונחלת עמק נגבה אדותן ילק ימה:
And behold these three cities are near Mount Lûbâr; Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb fronting the mountain on its east; and Na’êlâtamâ’ûk on the south; ’Adatanêsês towards the west.
ואלה בני שם עילם אשור ארפכשד והוא נולד שנתים אחר המבול וארם ולוד:
And these are the sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad--this (son) was born two years after the flood--and Lud, and Aram.
בני יפת גומר ומגוג ומדי יוון תולד משך ותירס אלה בני נוח:
The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan, Tubal and Meshech and Tiras: these are the sons of Noah.
ביובל השמונה ועשרים החל נוח את בני בניו את כל החוקות והמצוות אשר ידע ואת המשפט:
And in the twenty-eighth jubilee Noah began to enjoin upon his sons' sons the ordinances and commandments, and all the judgments that he knew,
ויעד בבניו לעשות צדק ולכסות בשר ערוותם ולברך את בוראם ולכבד את האב ואת האם לאהוב איש את רעהו ולשמור את נפשותיהם מכל זנונים וטומאה ומכל עוולה:
and he exhorted his sons to observe righteousness, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honour father and mother, and love their neighbour, and guard their souls from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity.
כי בגלל שלושת הדברים האלה בא המבול על הארץ:
For owing to these three things came the flood upon the earth, namely,
בגלל הזנונים אשר זנו השומרים למרות חוקי משפטם אחרי בנות האדם ולקחו להם נשים מכל אשר בחרו המה עשו ראשית הטומאה:
owing to the fornication wherein the Watchers against the law of their ordinances went a whoring after the daughters of men, and took themselves wives of all which they chose: and they made the beginning of uncleanness.
ובניהם הנפילים וכל אחיהם חלק לבם ויאכל איש את רעהו הענק המית את הנפיל והנפיל המית את העליון והעליון המית את בני האדם ואדם את רעהו:
And they begat sons the Nâphîdîm, and they were all unlike, and they devoured one another: and the Giants slew the Nâphîl, and the Nâphîl slew the Eljô, and the Eljô mankind, and one man another.
וכל איש היה לעשות אוון ולשפוך דם נקי ותמלא הארץ חמס:
And every one sold himself to work iniquity and to shed much blood, and the earth was filled with iniquity.
ובדרכיהם הלכו כל חית הארץ ועוף השמים וכל השרץ והרמש על הארץ ודם רב נשפך על הארץ:
And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moveth and walketh on the earth: and much blood was shed on the earth,
וכל יצר מחשבות האנשים היה אפס ורע כל היום:
and every imagination and desire of men imagined vanity and evil continually.
וימח ה' את כל היקום מעל פני האדמה מפני רוע מעלליהם ומפני הדם אשר שפכו על הארץ השמיד את כל היקום:
And the Lord destroyed everything from off the face of the earth; because of the wickedness of their deeds, and because of the blood which they had shed in the midst of the earth He destroyed everything.
ואני ואתם בני וכל אשר בא אתנו אל התיבה נשארנו:
"And we were left, I and you, my sons, and everything that entered with us into the ark,
והנה אנכי רואה כיום את מעשיכם כי לא תתהלכו בצדקה כי אם החילותם ללכת בדרך שחת:
and behold I see your works before me that ye do not walk in righteousness; for in the path of destruction ye have begun to walk,
ולהיפרד איש מרעהו ולקנא איש בעמיתו וכי לא תשבו בשלום בני איש את אחיו:
and ye are parting one from another, and are envious one of another, and (so it cometh) that ye are not in harmony, my sons, each with his brother.
כי אראה איך הרוחות הרעות החלו להוליככם תועה אתכם ואת בניכם:
For I see, and behold the demons have begun (their) seductions against you and against your children,
ועתה אדאג לכם פן אחרי מותי תשפכו דם אדם על הארץ ותימחו גם אתם מעל פני האדמה:
and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.
כי כל שופך דם אדם וכל אוכל דם כל בשר ישמד מקרב כל מן הארץ:
For whoso sheddeth man's blood, and whoso eateth the blood of any flesh, will all be destroyed from the earth.
ולא ישאר איש האוכל דם והשופך דם על הארץ לא נין ולא נכד לו תחת השמים:
And there will not be left any man that eateth blood. Or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor will there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven;
כי אם בגיא צלמות ילכו למו ואל בור שחת ירדו:
For into Sheol will they go, And into the place of condemnation will they descend.
בחשכת התהום יטבעו כולם במגפה רעה איש איש אשר לא יקריב מכל דם לכפר בעדכם:
And into the darkness of the deep will they all be removed by a violent death.
There shall be no blood seen upon you of all
וזה הדבר מדי תשחטו חיה או בהמה או כל אשר יעופף על הארץ עשו לכם פעולת צדקה בדם בכל מקום אשר ישפך על הארץ:
the blood there shall be all the days in which ye have killed any beasts or cattle or whatever flieth upon the earth, and work ye a good work to your souls by covering that which hath been shed on the face of the earth.
ואיש מכם לא יאכל בדם אל תתנו לאכול דם לפניכם:
And ye shall not be like him who eateth with blood, but guard yourselves that none may eat blood before you:
כסו את הדם בעפר כי כן צוויתי אעידהו לכם ולבניכם ולכל בשר:
cover the blood, for thus have I been commanded to testify to you and your children, together with all flesh.
ואל תאכלו הנפש עם הבשר פן לא ידרש דמכם לנפשכם מכל בשר השופך אותו על הארץ:
And suffer not the soul to be eaten with the flesh, that your blood, which is your life, may not be required at the hand of any flesh that sheddeth (it) on the earth.
כי לא יכופר לארץ את הדם אשר נשפך עליה כי אם בדם שופכו תטהר הארץ לכל דורותיה:
For the earth will not be clean from the blood which hath been shed upon it; for (only) through the blood of him that shed it will the earth be purified throughout all its generations.
ועתה בני שמעו בקולי עשו משפט וצדקה למען תנטעו באמת על כל פני האדמה ותהילתכם תנשא לפני אלוהי אשר הציל אותי ממי המבול:
And now, my children, hearken: work judgment and righteousness that ye may be planted in righteousness over the face of the whole earth, and your glory lifted up before my God, who saved me from the waters of the flood.
והנה תלכו ובניתם לכם ערים ונטעתם בהן כל עץ צומח על הארץ:
And behold, ye will go and build for yourselves cities, and plant in them all the plants that are upon the earth, and moreover all fruit-bearing trees.
ולא יאסוף איש שלוש שנים מפרי כל עץ מאכל לאוכלו ובשנה הרביעית יאסף פריו:
For three years the fruit of everything that is eaten will not be gathered: and in the fourth year its fruit will be accounted holy [and they will offer the first-fruits],
ויעלה ראשית כל פרי האדמה לפני אל עליון קונה שמים וארץ וכל היקום:
acceptable before the Most High God, who created heaven and earth and all things.
למען יובא עם החלב ראשית פרי יין ושמן על מזבח ה' לרצונו:
Let them offer in abundance the first of the wine and oil (as) first-fruits on the altar of the Lord, who receiveth it,
והנותר יאכלו משרתי בית ה' לפני המזבח לרצונו:
and what is left let the servants of the house of the Lord eat before the altar which receiveth (it).
ובשנה השביעית תעשו שמיטה כי תשמטוה בצדק ובמישרים ותהיו צדיקים וכל מטעיכם יבורכו:
And in the fifth year make ye the release so that ye release it in righteousness and uprightness, and ye shall be righteous, and all that you plant will prosper.
כי כן צוה חנוך אבי אביכם מתושלח את בנו ומתושלח צוהו לבנו למך ולמך צוה לי את כל אשר צוו לו אבותיו:
For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him.
וגם אנכי מצוהו לכם בני כאשר צוה חנוך את בנו ביובלו הראשון:
And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees:
בהיותו עוד בארץ החיים השביעי בדורותיו צוה והעיד את הדבר לבנו ולבני בניו עד יום מותו:
whilst still living, the seventh in his generation, he commanded and testified to his son and to his sons' sons until the day of his death.
בשבוע השביעי בשנה הראשונה בו ביובל הזה נטע נוח גפנים על ההר אשר נחה התיבה עליו ושמו לובָר אחד הרי אררט:
And in the seventh week in the first year thereof, in this jubilee, Noah planted vines on the mountain on which the ark had rested, named Lûbâr, one of the Ararat Mountains,
ותעשינה פרי בשנה הרביעית:
and they produced fruit in the fourth year,
ויצור את פריו ויבצור אותו בשנה ההיא בחודש השביעי ויעש ממנו יין וישימהו בכלי וישמרהו עד השנה החמישית עד היום הראשון הוא ראש החודש הראשון:
and he guarded their fruit, and gathered it in this year in the seventh month.
And he made wine therefrom and put it into a vessel, and kept it until the fifth year, until the first day, on the new moon of the first month.

ויעל אשה לה פר בן בקר ואיל אחד ושבעה כבשים בני שנה ושעיר עזים אחד לכפר בעדו ובעד בניו:
And he celebrated with joy the day of this feast, and he made a burnt sacrifice unto the Lord, one young ox and one ram, and seven sheep, each a year old, and a kid of the goats, that he might make atonement thereby for himself and his sons.
ויעש בראשון את השעיר ויבא את דמו על המזבח אשר עשה ואת כל חלבו שם על המזבח אשר עשה שם את האש:
And he prepared the kid first, and placed some of its blood on the flesh that was on the altar which he had made, and all the fat he laid on the altar where he made the burnt sacrifice,
ומן הפר ומן האיל ומן הכבשים שם את כל בשרם על המזבח וישם עליו את כל מנחותיהם בלולות בשמן:
and the ox and the ram and the sheep, and he laid all their flesh upon the altar.
And he placed all their offerings mingled with oil upon it,

and afterwards he sprinkled wine on the fire which he had previously made on the altar, and he placed incense on the altar and caused a sweet savour to ascend acceptable before the Lord his God.
וישמח וישת מן היין הזה הוא ובניו בשמחה רבה:
And he rejoiced and drank of this wine, he and his children with joy.
ויהי ערב ויבוא אל אהלה וישכב שיכור ויישן ויתגל בשנתו בתוך אוהלה:
And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept.
וירא חם את אביו נוח ערום ויצא ויגד לשני אחיו בחוץ:
And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without.
ויקח שֶם את שמלתו ויקום הוא ויפת ויסירו את שמלתו מעל שכמם הפנים אחורנית ויכסו את ערוות אביהם והם פונים אחורנית:
And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward.
ויקץ נוח משנתו וידע את כל אשר עשה לו בנו הקטן:
And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son
ויקלל את בנו ויאמר ארור כנען עבד עבדים יהיה לאחיו:
had done unto him, and he cursed his son and said: "Cursed be Canaan; an enslaved servant shall he be unto his brethren."
ויברך את שם ברוך ה' אלהי שם ויהי כנען עבד לו:
And he blessed Shem, and said: "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant.
ויפת אלהים ליפת וישכון אלהים באהלי שם ויהי כנען עבד לו:
God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant."
וידע חם כי קילל אביו את בנו וייפרד מאת אביו הוא ובניו עמו בכוש ומצרים ופוט וכנען:
And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
ויבן לו עיר ויקרא שמה כשם אשתו נחלת עמק:
And he built for himself a city and called its name after the name of his wife Nê’êlâtamâ’ûk.
וירא יפת ויקנא באחיו ויבן עיר גם הוא ויקרא לה כשם אשתו אדותן ילק:
And Japheth saw it, and became envious of his brother, and he too built for himself a city, and he called its name after the name of his wife ’Adâtanêsês.
ושֶם שכן על פני אביו נוח ויבן עיר אצל אביו על יד ההר ויקרא שמה גם הוא כשם אשתו צדקת לבב:
And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name after the name of his wife Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb.
שלוש הערים האלה קרובים אל ההר לובר צדקת לבב לפני ההר קדמה ונחלת עמק נגבה אדותן ילק ימה:
And behold these three cities are near Mount Lûbâr; Sêdêqêtêlĕbâb fronting the mountain on its east; and Na’êlâtamâ’ûk on the south; ’Adatanêsês towards the west.
ואלה בני שם עילם אשור ארפכשד והוא נולד שנתים אחר המבול וארם ולוד:
And these are the sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad--this (son) was born two years after the flood--and Lud, and Aram.
בני יפת גומר ומגוג ומדי יוון תולד משך ותירס אלה בני נוח:
The sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan, Tubal and Meshech and Tiras: these are the sons of Noah.
ביובל השמונה ועשרים החל נוח את בני בניו את כל החוקות והמצוות אשר ידע ואת המשפט:
And in the twenty-eighth jubilee Noah began to enjoin upon his sons' sons the ordinances and commandments, and all the judgments that he knew,
ויעד בבניו לעשות צדק ולכסות בשר ערוותם ולברך את בוראם ולכבד את האב ואת האם לאהוב איש את רעהו ולשמור את נפשותיהם מכל זנונים וטומאה ומכל עוולה:
and he exhorted his sons to observe righteousness, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honour father and mother, and love their neighbour, and guard their souls from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity.
כי בגלל שלושת הדברים האלה בא המבול על הארץ:
For owing to these three things came the flood upon the earth, namely,
בגלל הזנונים אשר זנו השומרים למרות חוקי משפטם אחרי בנות האדם ולקחו להם נשים מכל אשר בחרו המה עשו ראשית הטומאה:
owing to the fornication wherein the Watchers against the law of their ordinances went a whoring after the daughters of men, and took themselves wives of all which they chose: and they made the beginning of uncleanness.
ובניהם הנפילים וכל אחיהם חלק לבם ויאכל איש את רעהו הענק המית את הנפיל והנפיל המית את העליון והעליון המית את בני האדם ואדם את רעהו:
And they begat sons the Nâphîdîm, and they were all unlike, and they devoured one another: and the Giants slew the Nâphîl, and the Nâphîl slew the Eljô, and the Eljô mankind, and one man another.
וכל איש היה לעשות אוון ולשפוך דם נקי ותמלא הארץ חמס:
And every one sold himself to work iniquity and to shed much blood, and the earth was filled with iniquity.
ובדרכיהם הלכו כל חית הארץ ועוף השמים וכל השרץ והרמש על הארץ ודם רב נשפך על הארץ:
And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moveth and walketh on the earth: and much blood was shed on the earth,
וכל יצר מחשבות האנשים היה אפס ורע כל היום:
and every imagination and desire of men imagined vanity and evil continually.
וימח ה' את כל היקום מעל פני האדמה מפני רוע מעלליהם ומפני הדם אשר שפכו על הארץ השמיד את כל היקום:
And the Lord destroyed everything from off the face of the earth; because of the wickedness of their deeds, and because of the blood which they had shed in the midst of the earth He destroyed everything.
ואני ואתם בני וכל אשר בא אתנו אל התיבה נשארנו:
"And we were left, I and you, my sons, and everything that entered with us into the ark,
והנה אנכי רואה כיום את מעשיכם כי לא תתהלכו בצדקה כי אם החילותם ללכת בדרך שחת:
and behold I see your works before me that ye do not walk in righteousness; for in the path of destruction ye have begun to walk,
ולהיפרד איש מרעהו ולקנא איש בעמיתו וכי לא תשבו בשלום בני איש את אחיו:
and ye are parting one from another, and are envious one of another, and (so it cometh) that ye are not in harmony, my sons, each with his brother.
כי אראה איך הרוחות הרעות החלו להוליככם תועה אתכם ואת בניכם:
For I see, and behold the demons have begun (their) seductions against you and against your children,
ועתה אדאג לכם פן אחרי מותי תשפכו דם אדם על הארץ ותימחו גם אתם מעל פני האדמה:
and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.
כי כל שופך דם אדם וכל אוכל דם כל בשר ישמד מקרב כל מן הארץ:
For whoso sheddeth man's blood, and whoso eateth the blood of any flesh, will all be destroyed from the earth.
ולא ישאר איש האוכל דם והשופך דם על הארץ לא נין ולא נכד לו תחת השמים:
And there will not be left any man that eateth blood. Or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor will there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven;
כי אם בגיא צלמות ילכו למו ואל בור שחת ירדו:
For into Sheol will they go, And into the place of condemnation will they descend.
בחשכת התהום יטבעו כולם במגפה רעה איש איש אשר לא יקריב מכל דם לכפר בעדכם:
And into the darkness of the deep will they all be removed by a violent death.
