Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 43
1 Et il fit comme Joseph lui dit et remplit complètement leurs sacs de nourriture et mit leur argent dans leurs sacs et mit la coupe dans le sac de Benjamin et tôt en matinée ils partirent.
2 Et cela arriva lorsqu’ils étaient partis de là, Joseph dit à l’administrateur de sa maison :
Poursuis-les, cours et saisis-les en disant : Vous avez remis le mal pour le bien, vous m’avez volé la coupe d’argent avec laquelle mon seigneur boit !
3 Alors apporte-moi le plus jeune frère et ramène-le vite avant que j’aille sur mon siège de jugement.
4 Et il courut après eux et leur parla suivant toutes ces paroles, et ils leur dirent : Elohim interdit que tes serviteurs fassent cette chose et voler de la maison de ton seigneur tout ustensile.
5 Et pour l’argent que nous avons trouvé dans nos sacs la première fois, nous tes serviteurs l’avons rapporté de la terre de Canaan, alors comment volerions-nous un ustensile ?
6 Voici nous sommes ici et nos sacs, cherche parmi nous dans l’un de nos sacs et que celui sur qui tu trouveras la coupe soit tué et nous et nos ânes nous serviront ton seigneur.
7 Et il leur dit : Pas ainsi ! L’homme sur qui je trouverai, lui seul je prendrai comme serviteur et vous retournerez en paix dans votre maison.
8 Et comme il était en train de chercher dans leurs bagages, commençant par le plus vieux et finissant par le plus jeune, il fut trouvé dans le sac de Benjamin, alors ils déchirèrent leurs vêtements et chargèrent leurs ânes et retournèrent dans la ville et allèrent dans la maison de Joseph et ils s’agenouillèrent tous d’eux-mêmes leurs visages contre terre devant lui.
9 Et Joseph leur dit : Vous avez fait le mal.
10 Et ils dirent : Que dirons-nous et comment nous défendrons-nous ?
11 Notre seigneur a découvert la transgression de ses serviteurs. Voici nous sommes les serviteurs de notre seigneur et nos ânes aussi.
12 Et Joseph leur dit : Moi aussi je crains 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) ; ainsi pour vous, partez dans vos maison mais laissez votre frère être mon serviteur, car vous avez fait le mal.
13 Ne savez-vous pas qu’un homme prend plaisir avec sa coupe, comme moi avec cette coupe ? Et encore me l’avez-vous volé ?
14 Et Judah dit : O mon seigneur, je te demande, laisse ton serviteur dire une parole à l’oreille de mon seigneur : La mère de ton serviteur a porté 2 fils à notre père - l’un partit et fut perdu et n’a pas été retrouvé, et lui seul reste de sa mère, et ton serviteur notre père l’aime et sa vie aussi est liée avec la vie de ce [garçon].
15 Et s’il arrive que nous retournions vers ton serviteur mon père et que le garçon n’est pas avec nous, il en mourra et nous apporterions la mort de notre père par le chagrin.
16 Maintenant laisse-moi plutôt être ton serviteur à la place du garçon comme un garant pour mon seigneur et laisse le garçon partir avec ses frères, car je suis une garantie pour lui dans la main de ton serviteur mon père, et si je ne le ramène pas, ton serviteur portera le blâme de notre père à jamais.
17 Et Joseph vit qu’ils étaient concordants en bienveillance l’un envers l’autre et il ne put plus se retenir et il leur dit qu’il était Joseph.
18 Et il conversa avec eux en langue hébraïque et tomba à leur cou et pleura.
19 Mais ils ne le reconnurent pas et ils commencèrent à pleurer.
20 Et il leur dit : Ne pleurez pas sur moi, mais hâtez-vous et apportez-moi mon père et vous voyez par ma bouche qui parle et par les yeux de Benjamin qui voit.
21 Car voici, c’est la 2e année de famine et il reste encore 5 années sans récolte ou fruits d’arbres ou de culture.
22 Venez ici rapidement vous et votre maisonnée afin de ne pas périr par la famine et ne vous lamentez pas de vos possessions, car 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) m’envoie devant vous pour arranger les choses afin que beaucoup de peuples puissent vivre.
23 Et dites à mon père que je suis encore vivant et vous, voici, vous voyez que 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) m’a fait comme un père pour pharaon et intendant sur sa maison et sur toute la terre d’Égypte.
24 Racontez à mon père toute ma gloire et toutes les richesses de gloire que 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) m’a données.
25 Et par le commandement de la bouche de pharaon, il leur donna des chariots et des provisions pour le chemin et il leur donna toutes sortes de vêtements colorés et argent.
26 Et à leur père, il envoya un habit et argent et 10 ânes qui portaient du maïs (blé) et il les renvoya et ils partirent annoncer à leur père que Joseph était vivant et qu’il mesurait le maïs (blé) de toutes les nations de la terre et qu’il était intendant sur toute la terre d’Égypte.
27 Et leur père ne croyait pas cela, car il était de biais dans son souffle, mais quand il vit les chariots que Joseph avait envoyés, la vitalité de son souffle revint et il dit : C’est assez pour moi si Joseph vit, je descendrai et le verrai avant que je meure.
ויעש כדבר יוסף אשר דיבר אליו וימלא את שקיהם אוכל וגם זהבם שם בשקיהם ואת הגביע בשק בנימין:
And he did as Joseph had told him, and filled all their sacks for them with food and put their money in their sacks, and put the cup in Benjamin's sack.
הבקר אור והמה הלכו לדרכם:
And early in the morning they departed, and it came to pass that,
ויהי כאשר יצאו משם ויאמר יוסף אל האיש רדוף אחריהם רוץ וריבה עמהם לאמור שלמתם רעה תחת טובה וגנבתם את גביע הכסף אשר ישתה אדוני בו:
when they had gone from thence, Joseph said unto the steward of his house: "Pursue them, run and seize them, saying, 'For good ye have requited me with evil; you have stolen from me the silver cup out of which my lord drinks.'
והשב לי את אחיהם הקטן ומהר להביאהו בטרם אלך לעשות מלאכתי:
And bring back to me their youngest brother, and fetch (him) quickly before I go forth to my seat of judgment."
וירוץ אחריהם וידבר אליהם כדבריו:
And he ran after them and said unto them according to these words.
ויאמרו אליו חלילה לעבדיך לא יעשו דבר כזה ולא יגנבו מאומה מבית אדוניך:
And they said unto him: "God forbid that thy servants should do this thing, and steal from the house of thy lord any utensil,
וגם את הזהב אשר מצאנו אז בשקינו השיבונו אנחנו עבדיך מארץ כנען איך נגנוב דבר מה:
and the money also which we found in our sacks the first time, we thy servants brought back from the land of Canaan.
How then should we steal any utensil?
הננו פה אנחנו ושקינו האיש אשר תמצא את הגביע בשקו מות יומת ואנחנו עם חמורינו נהיה עבדים לאדוניך:
Behold here are we and our sacks; search, and wherever thou findest the cup in the sack of any man amongst us, let him be slain, and we and our asses will serve thy lord."
ויאמר אליהם לא כן איש אשר ימצא איתו אותו לבדו אקח לעבד ואתם לכו לביתכם לשלום:
And he said unto them: "Not so, the man with whom I find, him only shall I take as a servant, and ye will return in peace unto your house."
ובחפשו בכליהם החל בגדול וכלה בקטן וימצא בשק בנימין הקטן:
And as he was searching in their vessels, beginning with the eldest and ending with the youngest, it was found in Benjamin's sack.
ויחרדו ויקרעו שמלותם ויעמסו על חמוריהם וישובו העירה:
And they rent their garments, and laded their asses, and returned to the city
ויבואו ביתה יוסף ויפלו כולם לפניו על פניהם ארצה:
and came to the house of Joseph, and they all bowed themselves on their faces to the ground before him.
ויאמר להם יוסף אתם עשיתם את הדבר הזה:
And Joseph said unto them: "Ye have done evil."
ויאמרו מה נאמר ומה נצטדק ואדוננו מצא את עוון עבדיו הננו עבדים לאדוננו אנחנו וחמורינו:
And they said: "What shall we say and how shall we defend ourselves? Our lord hath discovered the transgression of his servants; behold we are the servants of our lord, and our asses also."
ויאמר להם יוסף את האלוהים אני ירא ועלו אל ביתכם אך אחיכם לי הוא כי הרעותם אשר עשיתם:
And Joseph said unto them: "I too fear the Lord; as for you, go ye to your homes and let your brother be my servant, for ye have done evil.
הלוא ידעתם כי איש כמוני אשר ישתה בגביע הזה הוקר יוקיר את גביעו ואתם גנבתם אותו ממני:
Know ye not that a man delighteth in his cup as I with this cup? And yet ye have stolen it from me."
ויאמר יהודה בי אדוני אדבר נא דבר באוזני אדוני:
And Judah said: "O my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ear;
שני אחים ילדה אמי לאבינו עבדך האחד יצא וטורף ולא נמצא עד הנה:
two brothers did thy servant's mother bear to our father; one went away and was lost, and hath not been found,
ויוותר האחר לבדו לאמו ועבדך אבינו אהבו ונפשו קשורה בנפש הזאת:
and he alone is left of his mother, and thy servant our father loveth him, and his life also is bound up with the life of this (lad).
והיה כשובנו אל עבדך אבינו והנער איננו אתנו ומת הרגנו את אבינו כי ימות ביגון:
And it will come to pass, when we go to thy servant our father, and the lad is not with us, that he will die, and we shall bring down our father with sorrow unto death.
ועתה הנני להיות עבדך תחת הילד עבד אדוני והנער יעל עם אחיו:
Now rather let me, thy servant, abide instead of the boy as a bondsman unto my lord, and let the lad go with his brethren,
כי אנוכי ערבתי אותו מעם עבדך אבינו ואם לא תשיבנו וחטא עבדך לאבינו כל הימים:
for I became surety for him at the hand of thy servant our father, and if I do not bring him back, thy servant will bear the blame to our father for ever."
וירא יוסף כי ברוח נדיבה יתאחדו ולב איש טוב לאחיו ולא יכול להתאפק עוד ויאמר אליהם כי הוא יוסף:
And Joseph saw that they were all accordant in goodness one with another, and he could not refrain himself, and he told them that he was Joseph.
וידבר איתם עברית ויפול על צואריהם ויבך ולא הכירוהו ויחלו לבכות גם המה:
And he conversed with them in the Hebrew tongue and fell on their neck and wept. But they knew him not and they began to weep.
ויאמר אליהם אל תבכו בעבורי מהרו והביאו את אבי אלי ואראה את אבי בטרם ימות ועיני בנימין אחי רואות:
And he said unto them: "Weep not over me, but hasten and bring my father to me; and ye see that it is my mouth that speaketh and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see.
כי הנה זאת השנה השנית לרעב ועוד חמש שנים אשר אין קציר ואין פרי העץ ואין צמח:
For behold this is the second year of the famine, and there are still five years without harvest or fruit of trees or ploughing.
רדו מהרה אתם ובתיכם ולא תמותו ברעב ולא תדאגו לכם ולרכושכם:
Come down quickly ye and your households, so that ye perish not through the famine, and do not be grieved for your possessions,
כי אלוהים שלחני לפניכם למחיה להחיות עם רב:
for the Lord sent me before you to set things in order that many people might live.
והגדתם לאבי כי עודני חי עיניכם רואות כי שמני אלוהים לאב לפרעה ולאדון בביתו ועל כל ארץ מצרים:
And tell my father that I am still alive, and ye, behold, ye see that the Lord hath made me as a father to Pharaoh, and ruler over his house and over all the land of Egypt.
והגדתם לאבי את כל כבודי ואת כל העושר והכבוד אשר נתן אלוהים לי:
And tell my father of all my glory, and all the riches and glory that the Lord hath given Me."
ויתן להם על פי פרעה עגלות וצדה לדרך ויתן להם שמלות צבועות וכסף:
And by the command of the mouth of Pharaoh he gave them chariots and provisions for the way, and he gave them all many-coloured raiment and silver.
וגם לאביהם שלח פרעה שמלות וכסף ועשרה חמורים נושאים בר:
And to their father he sent raiment and silver and ten asses which carried com, and he sent them away.
וישלח אותם ויעלו ויגידו לאביהם כי עודנו חי וכי הוא משביר בר לכל עמי הארץ ומושל בכל ארץ מצרים:
And they went up and told their father that Joseph was alive, and was measuring out corn to all the nations of the earth, and that he was ruler over all the land of Egypt.
ולא האמין להם אביהם כי פג לבו:
And their father did not believe it, for he was beside himself in his mind;
ואחר כן ראה את העגלות אשר שלח יוסף ותחי רוחו:
but when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent, the life of his spirit revived,
ויאמר רב לי כי עוד יוסף חי ארדה ואראנו בטרם אמות:
and he said: "It is enough for me if Joseph liveth; I will go down and see him before I die."
