Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 34
1 Et dans la 6e année de cette semaine du 44e jubilé, Jacob envoya ses fils pour paitre leurs moutons dans les pâturages de Shechem et ses serviteurs avec eux.
2 Et les 7 rois des amorites se rassemblèrent ensemble contre eux pour les tuer, en se cachant derrière les arbres et prendre leur bétail en butin.
3 Et Jacob, Levi, Judah et Joseph étaient dans la maison avec Isaac leur père, car son souffle était abattu et ils ne pouvaient pas le laisser et Benjamin étant le plus jeune et pour cette raison restait avec son père.
4 Et alors vinrent le roi de Taphu et le roi d’Aresa et le roi de Seragan et le roi de Selo et le roi de Gaas et le roi de Bethoron et le roi de Maanisakir et tous ceux qui habitaient dans ces montagnes [et] qui habitaient dans les bois sur la terre de Canaan.
5 Et ils annoncèrent cela à Jacob en disant : Voici les rois des amorites ont encerclé tes fils et pillent leurs troupeaux.
6 Et il se leva de sa maison, lui et ses 3 fils et tous les serviteurs de son père et ses propres serviteurs et il alla contre eux avec 6 000 hommes qui portaient épées et il les frappa dans les pâturages de Shechem et poursuivit ceux qui fuyaient et les tua avec le bord de la lame et il tua Aresa, Taphu, Saregan, Selo, [Amanisakir] et Gaas et il récupéra ses troupeaux.
7 Et il prévalut sur eux et leur imposa un tribut pour qu’ils lui paient un tribut de 5 produits de fruit de leur terre, et il construisit Robel et Tamnatares et il retourna en paix et fit la paix avec eux et ils devinrent ses serviteurs jusqu’au jour où lui et ses fils partirent en Égypte.
9 Et ils le traitèrent traitreusement et formèrent un complot contre lui pour le tuer, mais changeant d’avis ils le vendirent aux marchands Ismaélites qui l’emmenèrent en Égypte et le vendirent à Potiphar, eunuque de pharaon, chef des cuisiniers, sacrificateur de la ville de Elew.
10 Et les fils de Jacob tuèrent un petit (du bétail) et trempèrent la veste de Joseph dans le sang et [l’]envoyèrent à Jacob leur père au 10e jour du 7e mois.
11 Et il pleura toute cette nuit, car ils lui avaient annoncé dans la nuit et il devint fiévreux tant il pleurait pour son mort et il dit : Une mauvaise bête a dévoré Joseph et tous les membres de cette maison [pleurèrent avec lui ce jour et ils] étaient affligés et épleurés avec lui tout ce jour.
12 Et ses fils et sa fille se levèrent pour le réconforter mais il refusa d’être réconforté pour son fils.
13 Et en ce jour Bilhah entendit que Joseph était mort et elle mourut en le pleurant et elle vivait dans Qafratel, et Dinah sa fille mourut aussi après que Joseph ait péri.
14 Et il arriva 3 deuils sur Israël en 1 mois.
15 Et ils enterrèrent Bilhah près de la tombe de Rachel et sa fille aussi, ils les enterrèrent là.
16 Et ils s’endeuillèrent 1 année pour Joseph et ne cessèrent pas, car il dit : Laissez-moi aller dans la terre pleurer mon fils.
17 Pour cette raison il est ordonné aux enfants d’Israël qu’ils doivent s’affliger en ce jour des nouvelles de Joseph qui ont fait pleurer son père Jacob et qu’ils doivent faire expiation pour eux, une fois par année, avec une jeune chèvre, le 10e du 7e mois pour leurs péchés, car ils avaient affectés l’affection de leur père concernant Joseph son fils.
18 Et ce jour a été ordonné pour qu’ils soient affligés pour leur péchés et pour toutes leurs transgressions et pour toutes leurs erreurs afin qu’ils puissent se nettoyer eux-mêmes en ce jour, une fois par année.
19 Et après que Joseph périt, les fils de Jacob prirent pour eux des femmes :
20 Le nom de la femme de Reuben est Ada, et le nom de la femme de Siméon est Adlbaa, une canaanite, et le nom de la femme de Lévi est Melka, des filles d’Aram, de la semence des fils de Terah, et le nom de la femme de Judah - Betasuel, une canaanite, et le nom de la femme de Issachar - Hezaqa, et le nom de la femme de Zabulon - Niiman, et le nom de la femme de Dan - Egla, et le nom de la femme de Naphtali - Rasuu, de Mesopotamie, et le nom de la femme de Gad - Maka, et le nom de la femme de Asher - Ijona, et le nom de la femme de Joseph - Asenath l’égyptienne, et le nom de la femme de Benjamin - Ijasak. Et Siméon se repentit et prit une seconde femme de Mesopotamie comme ses frères.
ובשנה השישית לשבוע הזה ליובל הארבעים וארבעה שלח יעקב את בניו לשמור את צאנו ועבדיו איתם בשדה שכם:
And in the sixth year of this week of this forty-fourth jubilee Jacob sent his sons to pasture their sheep, and his servants with them, to the pastures of Shechem.
ויאספו עליהם שבעת מלכי האמורי להכותם נפש בהחבאם תחת השיחים ולקחת את מקניהם:
And the seven kings of the Amorites assembled themselves together against them, to slay them, hiding themselves under the trees, and to take their cattle as a prey.
ונשיהם ויעקב ולוי ויהודה ויוסף ישבו בבית יצחק אביהם כי רוחו נעצב ולא נתן אותם ללכת ובנימין הקטן נשאר את אביו:
And Jacob and Levi and Judah and Joseph were in the house with Isaac their father; for his spirit was sorrowful, and they could not leave him: and Benjamin was the youngest, and for this reason remained with his father.
ויבואו מלכי תפה ואריזה ושרגן ושילו וגיץ ומלך בית חורון ומניזכיר וכל היושבים על ההר ההוא היושבים ביערי ארץ כנען:
And there came the king[s] of Tâphû, and the king[s] of ’Arêsa, and the king[s] of Sêragân, and the king[s] of Sêlô,and the king[s] of Gâ’as, and the king of Bêthôrôn, and the king of Ma’anîsâkîr, and all those who dwell in these mountains (and) who dwell in the woods in the land of Canaan.
ויוגד ליעקב לאמור מלכי האמורי כיתרו את בניך ואת מקניהם שבו ויבוזו:
And they announced this to Jacob saying: "Behold, the kings of the Amorites have surrounded thy sons, and plundered their herds."
ויקם מביתו הוא ושלושת בניו וכל נערי אביו ונעריו ויצא לקראתם שמונה מאות איש תופשי חרב:
And he arose from his housel he and his three sons and all the servants of his father, and his own servants, and he went against them with six thousand men, who carried swords.
ויכו אותם בשדה שכם וירדפו אחרי הנסים ויהרגו את אריזה ואת תפה ואת שרגן ואת אמניסקינו ואת גגניז:
And he slew them in the pastures of Shechem, and pursued those who fled, and he slew them with the edge of the sword, and he slew ’Arêsa and Tâphû and Sarêgân and Sêlô and ’Amânîsakîr and Gâ[gâ]’as,
ויאסוף את מקנהו ותעז ידו עליהם וישם מס עליהם לתת לו את פרי אדמתם:
and he recovered his herds.
And he prevailed over them, and imposed tribute on them that they should pay him tribute, five fruit products of their land,
ויבנו את רובל ואת תמנת חרס:
and he built Rôbêl and Tamnâtârês
וישב בשלום ויכרות להם ברית ויהיו לו לעבדים עד רדתו עם בניו מצרימה:
And he returned in peace, and made peace with them, and they became his servants, until the day that he and his sons went down in to Egypt.
ובשנה השביעית לשבוע ההוא שלח את יוסף לראות את שלום אחיו מביתו שכמה:
And in the seventh year of this week he sent Joseph to learn about the welfare of his brothers from his house to the land of Shechem,
וימצאם בארץ דותן ויארבו לו ויתנכלו אותו להמיתו:
and he found them in the land of Dothan.
And they dealt treacherously with him, and formed a plot against him to slay him,
ויהי בהנחמם על מחשבתם וימכרוהו לאורחות ישמעאלים:
but changing their minds, they sold him to Ishmaelite merchants,
ויורידו אותו מצרימה וימכרוהו לפוטיפר סריס פרעה שר הטבחים כהן און:
and they brought him down into Egypt, and they sold him to Potiphar, the eunuch of Pharaoh, the chief of the cooks, priest of the city of ’Êlêw.
וישחטו בני יעקב שעיר עזים ויטבלו את כותנת יוסף בדמו וישלחו אותה אל יעקב בעשירי לחודש השביעי:
And the sons of Jacob slaughtered a kid, and dipped the coat of Joseph in the blood, and sent (it) to Jacob their father on the tenth of the seventh month.
ויביאו אותה אליו ויאחזהו השבץ בהתאבלו על מותו ויאמר חיה רעה אכלה את יוסף:
And he mourned all that night, for they had brought it to him in the evening, and he became feverish with mourning for his death, and he said: "An evil beast hath devoured Joseph";
וכל אנשי ביתו היו איתו ביום ההוא ותתפעם רוחם ויתאבלו עימו כל היום:
and all the members of his house [mourned with him that day, and they] were grieving and mourning with him all that day.
ויקומו בניו וביתו לנחמו וימאן להתנחם על בנו:
And his sons and his daughter rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted for his son.
וביום ההוא שמעה בלהה כי אבד יוסף ותמת באבלה עליו בהיותה בקרפטיפה:
And on that day Bilhah heard that Joseph had perished, and she died mourning him, and she was living in Qafrâtêf
וגם דינה בתו מתה אחרי אבוד יוסף האבל המשולש הזה קרה את ישראל בחודש אחד:
and Dinah also, his daughter, died after Joseph had perished. And there came these three mournings upon Israel in one month.
ויקברו את בלהה לעומת קבורת רחל וגם את דינה בתו קברו שמה:
And they buried Bilhah over against the tomb of Rachel, and Dinah also, his daughter, they buried there.
ויתאבל על יוסף שנה אחת ולא הסיר מעליו את האבל ויאמר כי ארד אל יוסף אבל שאולה:
And he mourned for Joseph one year, and did not cease, for he said "Let me go down to the grave mourning for my son."
לכן נועד בקרב בני ישראל להתאבל ביום העשירי לחודש השביעי ביום אשר הגיע שמע אבל יוסף אל יעקב אביו:
For this reason it is ordained for the children of Israel that they should afflict themselves on the tenth of the seventh month--on the day that the news which made him weep for Joseph came to Jacob his father
לבקש בו כפרה בשעיר עזים בעשור לחודש השביעי אחת בשנה על חטאתם כי הפכו את רחמי אביהם לאבל על יוסף בנו:
--that they should make atonement for themselves thereon with a young goat on the tenth of the seventh month, once a year, for their sins; for they had grieved the affection of their father regarding Joseph his son.
וביום הזה נועד להם להתאבל בו על חטאתיהם ועל כל פשעיהם ועל עוונותם להטהר ביום הזה אחת בשנה:
And this day hath been ordained that they should grieve thereon for their sins, and for all their transgressions and for all their errors, so that they might cleanse themselves on that day once a year.
ויהי כאשר אבד יוסף ויקחו בני יעקב להם נשים:
And after Joseph perished, the sons of Jacob took unto themselves wives.
שם אשת ראובן עדה שם אשת שמעון עדיבה הכנענית:
The name of Reuben's wife is ’Adâ and the name of Simeon's wife is ’Adîbâ’a, a Canaanite;
שם אשת לוי מילכה מבנות ארם מזרע בני תרח שם אשת יהודה בת שוע הכנענית:
and the name of Levi's wife is Mêlkâ, of the daughters of Aram, of the seed of the sons of Terah; and the name of Judah's wife, Bêtasû’êl, a Canaanite;
שם אשת יששכר חיזקה שם אשת דן עגלה:
and the name of Issachar's wife, Hêzaqâ; and the name of Zebulon's wife, Nî’îmân; and the name of Dan's wife, ’Êglâ;
שם אשת זבולון ניאימן שם אשת נפתלי רזוה מארם נהרים:
and the name of Naphtali's wife, Rasû’û, of Mesopotamia;
שם אשת גד מעכה שם אשת אשר יונה:
and the name of Gad's wife, Mâka; and the name of Asher's wife, ’Îjônâ;
שם אשת יוסף אסנת המצרית שם אשת בנימין יסכה:
and the name of Joseph's wife, Asenath, the Egyptian; and the name of Benjamin's wife, ’Îjasaka.
וישב שמעון ויקח לו אשה שניה מארם נהרים כאחיו:
And Simeon repented, and took a second wife from Mesopotamia as his brothers.
