Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 27
1 Et les paroles de Esau son fils aîné furent révélées à Rébecca dans un rêve et Rébecca envoya appeler son plus jeune fils Jacob et lui dit : Voici Esau ton frère veut faire vengeance sur toi et te tuer.
2 Maintenant mon fils, obéis à ma voix et lève-toi et fuis chez Laban mon frère à Haran et réfugie-toi chez lui quelques jours jusqu’à ce que la colère de ton frère se détourne et qu’il n’ait plus de colère contre toi et oublie tout ce que tu as fait, alors je t’enverrai ramener de là.
3 Et Jacob dit : Je n’ai pas peur, s’il veut me tuer, je le tuerai. Mais elle lui dit : Ne me laisse pas privée de mes 2 fils en un jour.
4 Il répondit : Voici, tu sais que mon père est devenu vieux et ne voit pas, car ses yeux sont faibles et si je le laisse ce sera mauvais à ses yeux ; si je le quitte et pars loin de vous, mon père sera en colère et il me maudira - je n’irai pas, mais s’il m’envoie alors j’irai.
5 Et Rébecca dit à Jacob : Je vais aller lui parler et il t’enverra au loin.
6 Et Rébecca alla et dit à Isaac : Je déteste ma vie à cause des 2 filles de Heth qu’Esau a prises pour femmes, et si Jacob prend une femme parmi les filles du pays comme celles-là, pour quelle raison vivrais-je davantage, car les filles de Canaan sont mauvaises.
7 Et Isaac appela Jacob et le bénit et l’avertit et lui dit : Ne prends pas une femme parmi les filles de Canaan.
8 Lève-toi et va en Mesopotamie, dans la maison de Bethuel le père de ta mère, et prends-toi une femme des filles de Laban le frère de ta mère.
9 Et Elohim Tout-puissant te bénisse et t’accroisse et te multiplie afin que tu deviennes une compagnie (ou société) de nations et te donne les bénédictions de mon père Abraham à toi et à ta semence après toi afin que tu hérites de la terre de tes séjours et tout le pays qu'Elohim accorda à Abraham. Va en paix mon fils !
10 Et Isaac renvoya Jacob et il alla en Mesopotamie chez Laban le fils de Bethuel le syrien, le frère de Rébecca, mère de Jacob.
11 Et cela arriva après que Jacob partit en Mesopotamie, le souffle de Rébecca fut accablé après son fils et elle pleurait.
12 Et Isaac dit à Rébecca : Ma sœur, ne pleure pas au sujet de Jacob mon fils, car il est parti en paix et il retournera en paix.
13 Le Plus-haut Elohim le préservera de tout mal et sera avec lui, car il ne l’abandonnera pas dans tous ses jours, car je sais que ses voies seront prospères dans toutes choses là où il ira jusqu’à ce qu’il nous retourne en paix et nous le verrons en paix.
14 Ne crains pas à son sujet ma sœur, car il est dans le droit chemin et il est un homme parfait et il est fidèle et il ne périra pas. Ne pleure pas ! Et Isaac réconforta Rébecca au sujet de son fils Jacob et le bénit.
16 Et il prit une des pierres de l’endroit et s’allongea sous l’arbre, car il voyageait seul et il dormit et il rêva cette nuit et voici, une échelle placée sur la terre et son haut atteignait le ciel et voici, les Anges de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) y montaient et descendaient et voici 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) s’y tenait dessus et il parla à Jacob et dit : Je suis 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) l'Elohim d’Abraham ton père et l'Elohim d’Isaac.
17 La terre où tu es couché, à toi Je la donnerai et à ta semence après toi.
18 Et ta semence sera comme la poussière de la terre et tu augmenteras à l’OUEST et à l’EST, au NORD et au SUD, et en toi et ta semence seront bénies toutes les familles des nations.
19 Et voici, Je serai avec toi et te garderai où que tu iras et Je te ramènerai de nouveau dans cette terre en paix, car Je ne te laisserai pas jusqu’à ce que Je fasse toute chose que Je t’ai dite !
20 Et Jacob se leva de son sommeil et dit : Véritablement cet endroit est la maison de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) et je ne le savais pas.
21 Et il eut peur et dit : Cet endroit est redoutable qui ne peut être autre que la maison d'Elohim et ceci est la porte du ciel.
22 Et Jacob se leva très tôt le matin et prit la pierre qu’il avait mise sous sa tête et la plaça en pilier comme un signe et il versa de l’huile sur le dessus et il appela cet endroit Bethel, mais le nom de l’endroit était Luz en premier.
23 Et Jacob jura un serment à 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) en disant : Si 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) est avec moi et me garde dans ce chemin où je vais et me donne du pain à manger et un vêtement pour m’habiller afin que je retourne à la maison de mon père en paix ; alors 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) sera mon Elohim et cette pierre que j’ai placée en pilier à cet endroit comme un signe sera la maison de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH), et de tout ce que tu me donneras mon Elohim, je te donnerai un 10e.
ויוגד לרבקה בחלום את דבר עשו בנה הגדול ותשלח רבקה ותקרא ליעקב בנה הקטן ותאמר אליו הנה עשו אחיך מתנקם לך להרגך:
And the words of Esau, her elder son, were told to Rebecca in a dream, and Rebecca sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him:
"Behold Esau thy brother will take vengeance on thee so as to kill thee.
ועתה שמע בקולי קום וברח לך אל לבן אחי:
Now, therefore, my son, obey my voice, and arise and flee thou to Laban, my brother, to Haran,
וישבת עמו ימים אחדים עד אשר תשוב חמת אחיך:
and tarry with him a few days until thy brother's anger turneth away,
ושב אפו ממך ושכח את כל אשר עשית לו ושלחתי ולקחתיך משם:
and he remove his anger from thee, and forget all that thou hast done; then I will send and fetch thee from thence."
ויאמר יעקב לא אירא אם יקום עלי להרגני והרגתיו ותאמר אם כן אשכל שני בני יום אחד:
And Jacob said: "I am not afraid; if he wisheth to kill me, I will kill him."
But she said unto him: "Let me not be bereft of both my sons on one day."
ויאמר יעקב אל רבקה אמו הנה נא ידעת כי זקן אבי ואנוכי רואה כי כהו עיניו מראות:
And Jacob said to Rebecca his mother: "Behold, thou knowest that my father hath become old, and doth not see because his eyes are dull,
והיה כי אעזוב אותו ורע הדבר בעיניו כי אעזבהו ואלכה לי מאתכם וקצף אבי עלי וקללני:
and if I leave him it will be evil in his eyes, because I leave him and go away from you, and my father will be angry, and will curse me.
לא אוכל ללכת כי אם כאשר ישלחני ללכת ואלכה:
I will not go; when he sendeth me, then only will I go."
ותאמר רבקה אל יעקב אבוא אליו ואגידה לו כי ישלחך:
And Rebecca said to Jacob: "I will go in and speak to him, and he will send thee away."
ותבוא רבקה ותאמר אל יצחק קצתי בחיי מפני שתי בנות חת אשר לקח עשו לו לנשים ואם לוקח יעקב אשה מבנות הארץ כלמה לי חיים כי רעות בנות ארץ כנען:
And Rebecca went in and said to Isaac: "I loathe my life because of the two daughters of Heth, whom Esau hath taken him as wives; and if Jacob take a wife from among the daughters of the land such as these, for what purpose do I further live; for the daughters of Canaan are evil."
ויקרא יצחק אל יעקב בנו ויברך אותו ויצוהו ויאמר לו לא תקח לך אשה מכל בנות כנען:
And Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and admonished him and said unto him: "Do not take thee a wife of any of the daughters of Canaan;
קום לך פדנה ארם ביתה בתואל אבי אמך וקח לך משם אשה מבנות לבן אחי אמך:
arise and go to Mesopotamia, to the house of Bethuel, thy mother's father, and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban, thy mother's brother.
ואלוהי השמים יברך אותך ויפרך וירבך והיית לקהל עמים:
And God Almighty bless thee and increase and multiply thee that thou mayest become a company of nations,
ויתן לך את ברכות אברהם אבי לך ולזרעך אחריך לרשתך את ארץ מגוריך ואת כל הארץ אשר נתן אלוהים לאברהם לך לך בני בשלום:
and give thee the blessings of my father Abraham, to thee and to thy seed after thee, that thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojournings and all the land which God gave to Abraham: go, my son, in peace."
וישלח יצחק את יעקב וילך פדנה ארם אל לבן בן בתואל הארמי אחי רבקה אם יעקב:
And Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went to Mesopotamia, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebecca, Jacob's mother.
ויהי בנסוע יעקב ללכת פדנה ארם ותתאבל רבקה על בנה ותבך:
And it came to pass after Jacob had arisen to go to Mesopotamia that the spirit of Rebecca was grieved after her son, and she wept.
ויאמר יצחק אל רבקה אחותי אל נא תבכי על בני על יעקב כי בשלום ילך שמה ובשלום ישוב הנה:
And Isaac said to Rebecca: "My sister, weep not on account of Jacob, my son; for he goeth in peace, and in peace will he return.
אל עליון ישמרהו מכל רע ויהיה עמו ולא יעזבהו כל הימים כי ידעתי אשר יצליח ה' את דרכיו בכל אשר ילך עד אשר ישוב בשלום אלינו ונראהו בשלום:
The Most High God will preserve him from all evil, and will be with him; for He will not forsake him all his days;
For I know that his ways will be prospered in all things wherever he goeth, until he return in peace to us, and we see him in peace.
אל תיראי אודותיו אחותי כי ישר דרכו והוא איש חסיד ונאמן ולא יאבד בכה אל תבכי:
Fear not on his account my sister, for he is on the upright path and he is a perfect man: and he is faithful and will not perish. Weep not."
וינחם יצחק את רבקה על יעקב בנה ויברך אותו:
And Isaac comforted Rebecca on account of her son Jacob, and blessed him.
ויצא יעקב מבאר שבע ללכת חרנה בשנה הראשונה לשבוע השני ליובל הארבעה וארבעים:
And Jacob went from the Well of the Oath to go to Haran on the first year of the second week in the forty-fourth Jubilee,
ויבוא לוזה ההרה היא בית אל בראש החודש הראשון בשבוע ההוא ויפגע במקום בהיות הערב:
and he came to Luz on the mountains, that is, Bethel, on the new moon of the first month of this week, and he came to the place at even
ויט מן הדרך מערבה בלילה ההוא ויישן שם כי בא השמש:
and turned from the way to the west of the road that night: and he slept there; for the sun had set.
ויקח אחת אבני המקום ההוא וישימה תחת העץ כי לבדו הלך בדרך:
And he took one of the stones of that place and laid it (at his head) under the tree, and he was journeying alone, and he slept.
ויישן ויחלום בלילה ההוא והנה סולם מוצב ארצה וראשו מגיע השמימה והנה מלאכי אלוהים עולים ויורדים בו:
And he dreamt that night, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven, and behold, the angels of the Lord ascended and descended on it: and behold, the Lord stood upon it.
והנה ה' ניצב עליו וידבר ה' את יעקב ויאמר אני אלוהי אברהם אביך ואלוהי יצחק הארץ אשר אתה עומד עליה לך אתננה ולזרעך אחריך:
And He spake to Jacob and said: "I am the Lord God of Abraham, thy father, and the God of Isaac; the land whereon thou art sleeping, to thee shall I give it, and to thy-seed after thee.
והיה זרעך כעפר הארץ ופרצת ימה וקדמה ונגבה וצפונה ונברכו בך ובזרעך כל ארצות העמים:
And thy seed will be as the dust of the earth, and thou wilt increase to the west and to the east, to the north and the south, and in thee and in thy seed will all the families of the nations be blessed.
והנה אנוכי אהיה עמך ושמרתיך בכל מקום ובכל אשר תלך והשיבותיך בשלום אל האדמה הזאת כי לא אעזבך עד אשר אם עשיתי את כל אשר דברתי לך:
And behold, I shall be with thee, and shall keep thee whithersoever thou goest, and I shall bring thee again into this land in peace; for I shall not leave thee until I do everything that I told thee of."
וייקץ יעקב משנתו ויאמר אכן המקום הזה הוא בית אלוהים ואנוכי לא ידעתי:
And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and said, "Truly this place is the house of the Lord, and I knew it not."
ויירא ויאמר מה נורא המקום הזה אין זה כי אם בית אלוהים וזה שער השמים:
And he was afraid and said:" Dreadful is this place which is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."
וישכם יעקב בבוקר ויקח את האבן אשר שם מראשותיו ויקם אותה מצבה לאות על המקום ההוא ויצוק שמן על ראשה:
And Jacob arose early in the morning, and took the stone which he had put under his head and set it up as a pillar for a sign, and he poured oil upon the top of it.
ויקרא את שם המקום ההוא בית אל ואולם לוז שמו לראשונה כשם הארץ:
And he called the name of that place Bethel; but the name of the place was Luz at the first.
וידר יעקב נדר לה לאמור אם יהיה אלוהים עמדי ושמרני בדרך הזה אשר אנוכי הולך ונתן לי לחם לאכול ובגדים ללבוש:
And Jacob vowed a vow unto the Lord, saying: "If the Lord will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and give me bread to eat and raiment to put on,
ושבתי בשלום אל בית אבי והיה ה' לי לאלוהים:
so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then shall the Lord be my God,
וגם האבן הזאת אשר הקימותי מצבה לאות על המקום הזה יהיה בית אלוהים וכל אשר תתן לי עשר אעשרנו לך אלוהי:
and this stone which I have set up as a pillar for a sign in this place, shall be the Lord's house, and of all that thou givest me, I shall give the tenth to thee, my God."
