Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 26
1 Dans la 7e année de cette semaine, Isaac appela Esau son fils aîné et lui dit : Je suis âgé mon fils et voici mes yeux sont faibles pour voir et je ne connais pas le jour de ma mort.
2 Et maintenant prends tes armes de chasse, ta flèche et ton arc, et va sur le terrain et chasse et prends-moi [gibier] mon fils et fais-moi un repas savoureux comme mon âme aime et apporte-le moi afin que je mange et que mon âme te bénisse avant que je meure.
3 Mais Rébecca entendit Isaac parler à Esau. Et Esau partit très tôt sur le terrain pour chasser et attraper et apporter à la maison pour son père.
4 Et Rébecca appela Jacob son fils et lui dit : Voici j’ai entendu Isaac ton père parler avec Esau ton frère en disant : Chasse pour moi et fais-moi un plat savoureux et apporte-[le] moi afin que je mange et te bénisse devant 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) avant que je meure.
5 Et maintenant mon fils, obéis à ma voix dans ce que je te commanderai. Va au troupeau et attrape-moi 2 bons petits des chèvres et je ferai d’eux un plat savoureux pour ton père comme il aime et tu [l’]apporteras à ton père afin qu’il mange et te bénisse devant 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) avant qu’il meure et que tu sois béni.
6 Et Jacob dit à Rébecca sa mère : Mère, je ne retiendrais aucune chose à manger pour mon père qui peut lui faire plaisir, je crains seulement ma mère qu’il reconnaisse ma voix et veuille me toucher, car tu sais que je suis lisse et Esau mon frère est velu et je paraitrai devant ses yeux comme un mauvais et aurais fait une action qu’il ne m’aura pas commandé et il sera en colère contre moi et j’apporterais sur moi une malédiction et non une bénédiction.
7 Et Rébecca sa mère lui dit : Que sur moi soit ta malédiction mon fils, seulement obéis à ma voix.
8 Et Jacob obéit à la voix de Rébecca sa mère et il alla et attrapa 2 bons et gras petits des chèvres et les apporta à sa mère et sa mère les prépara en plat savoureux comme il aimait.
9 Et Rébecca prit un bon vêtement d’Esau son fils aîné qu’elle avait avec elle dans la maison et elle en habilla Jacob son plus jeune fils et elle mit la peau des petits sur ses mains et sur les parties exposées de son cou.
10 Et elle donna la viande et le pain qu’elle avait préparés dans la main de son fils Jacob, et Jacob alla vers son père et dit : Je suis ton fils, j’ai fait comme tu m’as demandé ; relève-toi et assis-toi et mange ce que j’ai attrapé père, que ton âme me bénisse.
11 Et Isaac dit à son fils : Comment as-tu attrapé si vite mon fils ? Et Jacob dit : – Parce que
[ 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) Elohim me fit trouver].
12 Et Isaac lui dit : Viens près de moi que je te sente mon fils si tu es mon fils Esau ou non.
13 Et Jacob s’approcha de Isaac son père et il le sentit et dit : La voix est la voix de Jacob mais les mains sont les mains de Esau.
14 Et il ne le discerna pas, car il avait été dispensé du ciel d’enlever son pouvoir de perception et Isaac ne discerna pas afin qu’il le bénisse, car ses mains étaient velues comme son frère Esau, et il dit : Es-tu mon fils Esau ?
15 Et il répondit : Je suis ton fils. Alors il dit : Approche-toi afin que je mange ce que tu as attrapé mon fils que mon âme te bénisse.
16 Et il apporta près de lui et il mangea et il lui apporta du vin et il but. Et Isaac son père lui dit : Approche-toi et embrasse-moi mon fils. Et il s’approcha et l’embrassa.
17 Et il sentit l’odeur de son vêtement et il le bénit et dit : Voici, l’odeur de mon fils est comme un [grand] champ que 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) a béni.
18 Que 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) te donne la rosée du ciel et la rosée de la terre et plein de maïs (blé) et d’huile.
19 Que les nations te servent et les peuples s’inclinent devant toi. Sois le seigneur de tes frères et que les fils de ta mère s’inclinent devant toi, et que toutes les bénédictions par lesquelles 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) m’a béni et béni Abraham mon père, qu’elles te soient imparties à toi et à tes fils à toujours. Maudit est celui qui te maudira, et béni est celui qui te bénira !
20 Et cela arriva aussitôt qu’Isaac mit fin à la bénédiction de son fils Jacob et que Jacob quitta Isaac son père et se cacha, Esau son frère revint de sa chasse et il fit aussi un plat savoureux et [l’]apporta à son père et dit à son père : Que mon père se lève et mange de mon gibier que ton âme me bénisse.
21 Et Isaac son père lui dit : – Qui es-tu ? Et il lui dit : Je suis ton fils Esau ton premier-né, j’ai fait comme tu m’as commandé.
22 Et Isaac fut grandement étonné et dit : Qui est celui qui a chassé et attrapé et me [l’]a apporté et que j’ai tout mangé avant que tu viennes et que j’ai béni [et] il sera béni et toute sa semence à toujours.
23 Et cela arriva quand Esau entendit les paroles de son père Isaac, il se mit à crier d’un pleur extrêmement fort et amer et dit à son père : Bénis-moi, moi [aussi] père.
24 Et il lui dit : Ton frère est venu avec ruse et a pris ta bénédiction.
25 Et il dit : Maintenant je sais pourquoi son nom est Jacob, voici, il m’a supplanté deux fois : il a pris mon aînesse et maintenant il a pris ma bénédiction.
26 Et il dit : N’as-tu pas réservé une bénédiction pour moi père ? Et Isaac répondit et dit à Esau : Voici je l’ai fait ton seigneur et tous ses frères comme serviteurs, je l’ai raffermis avec plénitude de maïs (blé) et de vin et d’huile - et que ferai-je pour toi maintenant mon fils ?
27 Et Esau dit à Isaac son père : N’as-tu pas une bénédiction ô père ? Bénis-moi, moi [aussi] père. Et Esau éleva sa voix et pleura. Et Isaac répondit et lui dit : Voici, loin de la rosée de la terre sera ton habitation et loin de la rosée du ciel au-dessus, et par l’épée tu vivras et tu serviras ton frère.
28 Et il viendra à passer quand tu deviendras grand et secourras son joug de ton cou, tu pécheras un péché de mort entièrement et ta semence sera déracinée du dessous du ciel.
29 Et Esau menaçait continuellement Jacob à cause de la bénédiction par laquelle son père le bénit et il dit dans son cœur : Que les jours de deuil de mon père viennent maintenant afin que je tue mon frère Jacob.
ובשנה השביעית לשבוע ההוא קרא יצחק את עשו בנו הגדול ויאמר אליו בני הנה נא זקנתי והנה כהו עיני מראות ולא ידעתי יום מותי:
And in the seventh year of this week Isaac called Esau, his elder son, and said unto him: "I am old, my son, and behold my eyes are dim in seeing, and I know not the day of my death.
ועתה שא נא כליך אשפתך וקשתך וצא השדה וצודה לי ותפוש לי ציד בני:
And now take thy hunting weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt and catch me (venison), my son,
ועשה לי מטעמים כאשר אהבה נפשי והביאם לי ואוכלה ונפשי תברכך בטרם תמות:
and make me savoury meat, such as my soul loveth, and bring it to me that I may eat, and that my soul may bless thee before I die."
ורבקה שומעת את דברו בדבר יצחק אל עשו וילך עשו בבוקר השדה לצוד ציד ולתפוש ולהביאו אל אביו:
But Rebecca heard Isaac speaking to Esau.
And Esau went forth early to the field to hunt and catch and bring home to his father.
ורבקה קראה אל יעקב בנה ותאמר אליו הנה שמעתי את אביך יצחק מדבר אל עשו אחיך לאמור:
And Rebecca called Jacob, her son, and said unto him: "Behold, I heard Isaac, thy father, speak unto Esau, thy brother, saying:
צודה לי ציד ועשה לי מטעמים והביאם לי ואברככה לפני ה' בטרם אמות:
Hunt for me, and make me savoury meat, and bring (it) to me that I may eat and bless thee before the Lord before I die.'
ועתה שמע נא את דברי בני לאשר אני מצוה אותך:
And now, my son, obey my voice in that which I command thee:
לך נא אל עדרך והביאה לי שני גדיי עזים טובים ואעשה אותם מטעמים כאשר אהב:
Go to thy flock and fetch me two good kids of the goats, and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth,
והבאת אותם לאביך ואכל בעבור אשר יברכך לפני ה' לפני מותו וברוך תהיה:
and thou shalt bring (it) to thy father that he may eat and bless thee before the Lord before he die, and that thou mayst be blessed."
ויאמר יעקב אל רבקה אמו אמי לא אמנע מאבי מאומה אשר יאכל ויטעם לחכו אבל ירא אנוכי אמי פן יכיר את קולי ויואל למושני:
And Jacob said to Rebecca his mother: "Mother, I shall not withhold anything which my father would eat, and which would please him: only I fear, my mother, that he will recognise my voice and wish to touch me.
ואת ידעת כי איש חלק אנוכי ועשו אחי איש שעיר והייתי בעיניו כפועל און ועשיתי את אשר לא צוה אותי וקצף עלי והבאתי עלי קללה ולא ברכה:
And thou knowest that I am smooth, and Esau, my brother, is hairy, and I shall appear before his eyes as an evildoer, and shall do a deed which he had not commanded me, and he will be wroth with me, and I shall bring upon myself a curse, and not a blessing."
ותאמר לו רבקה אמו עלי קללתך בני אך שמע בקולי:
And Rebecca, his mother, said unto him: "Upon me be thy curse, my son, only obey my voice."
וישמע יעקב בקול רבקה אמו וילך ויקח שני גדיי עזים טובים ובריאים ויבא אותם לאמו ותעש אמו אותם כאשר אהב:
And Jacob obeyed the voice of Rebecca, his mother, and went and fetched two good and fat kids of the goats, and brought them to his mother, and his mother made them (savoury meat) such as he loved.
ותקח רבקה את בגדי עשו בנה הגדול החמודות אשר אתה בבית ותלבש את יעקב אצלה:
And Rebecca took the goodly raiment of Esau, her elder son, which was with her in the house, and she clothed Jacob, her younger son, (with them), and she put the skins of the kids upon his hand
ואת עורות גדיי העזים הלבישה על ידיו ועל חלקת בשרו:
and on the exposed parts of his neck.
And she gave the meat
ותתן את המטעמים ואת הלחם אשר עשתה ביד יעקב בנה:
and the bread which she had prepared into the hand of her son Jacob.
ויבוא אל אביו ויאמר אנוכי בנך עשיתי כאשר אמרת אלי:
And Jacob went in to his father and said: "I am thy son: I have done according as thou badest me:
קום נא ושבה ואכלה מצידי אבי בעבור תברכני נפשך:
arise and sit and eat of that which I have caught, father, that thy soul may bless me."
ויאמר יצחק אל בנו מה זה מהרת למצוא בני? ויאמר יעקב כי הקרה ה' אלוהיך לפני:
And Isaac said to his son: "How hast thou found so quickly, my son?" And Jacob said: "Because (the Lord) thy God caused me to find."
ויאמר יצחק אליו גשה נא ואמושך בני האתה זה בני עשו אם לא:
And Isaac said unto him: "Come near, that I may feel thee, my son, if thou art my son Esau or not."
ויגש יעקב אל יצחק אביו וימושהו ויאמר הקול קול יעקב והיד יד עשו:
And Jacob went near to Isaac, his father, and he felt him and said:<bt>"The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau,"
ולא הכירו כי מאת השמים היתה נסבה להחשיך דעתו:
and he discerned him not, because it was a dispensation from heaven to remove his power of perception and Isaac discerned not,
ולא ידע אותו יצחק כי היו ידיו כידי אחיו ושעירות כיד עשו למען יברכהו:
for his hands were hairy as (his brother) Esau's, so that he blessed him.
ויאמר האתה זה בני? ויאמר אני בנך:
And he said: "Art thou my son Esau?" and he said: "I am thy son.
ויאמר הגישה לי ואוכלה מצידך בני למען תברכך נפשי ויגש לו ויאכל ויבא לו יין וישת:
and he said, "Bring near to me that I may eat of that which thou hast caught, my son, that my soul may bless thee."
And he brought near to him, and he did eat, and he brought him wine and he drank.
ויאמר יצחק אביו גשה נא ושקה לי בני:
And Isaac, his father, said unto him: "Come near and kiss me, my son."
ויגש וישק לו וירח את ריח בגדיו ויברכהו ויאמר ראה ריח בני כריח שדה אשר ברכו ה':
And he came near and kissed him.
And he smelled the smell of his raiment, and he blessed him and said: "Behold, the smell of my son is as the smell of a (full) field which the Lord hath blessed.
יתן לך האלוהים וירבה לך מטל השמים ומשמני הארץ ורוב דגן ויצהר יתן לך לרוב:
And may the Lord give thee of the dew of heaven And of the dew of the earth, and plenty of corn and oil:
יעבדוך עמים וישתחוו לך אנשים הוה גביר לאחיך וישתחוו לך בני אמך:
Let nations serve thee, And peoples bow down to thee.
Be lord over thy brethren, And let thy mother's sons bow down to thee;
וכל הברכות אשר ברך ה' אותי ואת אברהם אבי לך תהיינה ולזרעך עד עולם אוררך ארור ומברכך ברוך:
And may all the blessings wherewith the Lord hath blessed me and blessed Abraham, my father, Be imparted to thee and to thy seed for ever Cursed be he that curseth thee, And blessed be he that blesseth thee."
ויהי כאשר כילה יצחק לברך את יעקב בנו ויעקב יצוא יצא מאת פני יצחק אביו ונסתר ועשו אחיו בא מצידו:
And it came to pass as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing his son Jacob, and Jacob had gone forth from Isaac his father he hid himself and Esau, his brother, came in from his hunting.
ויעש גם הוא מטעמים ויביאם לאביו ויאמר אל אביו קום אבי ואכל מצידי בעבור תברכני נפשך:
And he also made savoury meat, and brought (it) to his father, and said unto his father: "Let my father arise, and eat of my venison that thy soul may bless me."
ויאמר לו יצחק אביו מי אתה? ויאמר אליו אני בנך בכורך עשו עשיתי כאשר צויתני:
And Isaac, his father, said unto him: "Who art thou?" And he said unto him: "I am thy first born, thy son Esau: I have done as thou hast commanded me."
ויחרד יצחק חרדה גדולה עד מאוד ויאמר מי אפוא הוא אשר צד לי ציד ותפש ויבא ואוכל מכל בטרם תבוא ואברכהו ברוך יהיה הוא וכל זרעו עד עולם:
And Isaac was very greatly astonished, and said: "Who is he that hath hunted and caught and brought (it) to me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him: (and) he shall be blessed, and all his seed for ever."
ויהי כשמוע עשו את דברי יצחק אביו ויצעק צעקה גדולה ומרה ויאמר לאביו ברכני גם אני אבי:
And it came to pass when Esau heard the words of his father Isaac that he cried with an exceeding great and bitter cry, and said unto his father: "Bless me, (even) me also, father."
ויאמר אליו בא אחיך במרמה ויקח ברכותיך:
And he said unto him: "Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing."
ויאמר עשו עתה ידעתי מדוע קרא שמו יעקב זה פעם שנית עקב אותי בראשונה לקח את בכורתי ועתה לקח את ברכתי ויאמר הלא אצלת לי ברכה אבי:
And he said: "Now I know why his name is named Jacob: behold, he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birth-right, and now he hath taken away my blessing." And he said: "Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me, father?"
ויען יצחק ויאמר לעשו הן גביר שמתיו לך ולכל אחיו ונתתי אותם לו לעבדים ורוב דגן ויצהר סמכתיו ולכה אפוא מה אעשה בני?
and Isaac answered and said unto Esau: "Behold, I have made him thy lord, And all his brethren have I given to him for servants, And with plenty of com and wine and oil have I strengthened him: And what now shall I do for thee, my son?"
ויאמר עשו אל יצחק אביו הברכה אחת היא לך אבי? ברכני גם אני אבי וישא עשו קולו ויבך:
And Esau said to Isaac, his father: "Hast thou but one blessing, O father? Bless me, (even) me also, father": And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.
ויען יצחק ויאמר אליו הנה משמני הארץ תהיה ברכתך ומטל השמים מעל:
And Isaac answered and said unto him: "Behold, far from the dew of the earth shall be thy dwelling, And far from the dew of heaven from above.
ועל חרבך תחיה ואת אחיך תעבוד והיה כאשר תגדל ותפרוק עולו מעל צוארך וחטאת בנפשך וכל זרעך יכרת מתחת השמים:
And by thy sword wilt thou live, And thou wilt serve thy brother. And it shall come to pass when thou becomest great, And dost shake his yoke from off thy neck, Thou wilt sin a complete sin unto death, And thy seed will be rooted out from under heaven."
ויקצוף עשו על יעקב על הברכה אשר ברכו אביו ויאמר בלבו עתה יקרבו ימי אבל אבי ואהרגה את יעקב אחי:
And Esau kept threatening Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him, and he said in his heart: "May the days of mourning for my father now come, so that I may slay my brother Jacob."
