Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 24
1 Et cela arriva après la mort d’Abraham, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) bénit son fils Isaac qui partit d’Hebron, et dans la 1e année de la 3e semaine de ce jubilé il alla habiter au puits de la vision durant 7 années.
2 Et dans la 1e année de la 4e semaine une famine commença dans le pays à part la 1e famine qui était survenue aux jours d’Abraham.
3 Et Jacob épiçait un potage de lentille et Esau arriva des champs affamé et dit à Jacob son frère : Donne-moi de ce potage rouge.
4 Et Jacob lui dit : Vends-moi ta [prime-géniture, ton] aînesse et je te donnerai du pain ainsi qu’une portion de ce potage de lentille.
5 Et Esau dit dans son cœur : Je vais mourir ! De quel profit me sera ce droit d’aînesse ? Et il dit à Jacob : Je te le donne.
6 Et Jacob dit : Jure-le-moi ce jour. Et il lui jura.
7 Et Jacob donna à son frère Esau pain et potage et il mangea jusqu’à ce qu’il fut rassasié et Esau méprisa son droit d’aînesse ; pour cette raison, le nom d’Esau fut appelé Edom au compte du potage rouge que Jacob lui donna contre son droit d’aînesse.
8 Et Jacob devint l’aîné et Esau fut rabaissé dans sa dignité.
10 Et 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) lui apparut et lui dit : Ne descends pas en Égypte, habite dans la terre que Je te dirai et séjourne sur cette terre et Je serai avec toi et te bénirai.
11 Car je donnerai cette terre entière à toi et à ta semence et J’établirai mon alliance que j’ai jurée à Abraham ton père et Je multiplierai ta semence comme les étoiles du ciel et donnerai cette terre entière à ta semence et en ta semence seront bénies toutes les nations de la terre, car ton père obéit à ma voix et conserva ma charge et mes commandements et mes lois et mes ordonnances et mon alliance, et maintenant obéis à ma voix et habite dans cette terre.
12 Et il habita à Gerar 3 semaines d’années et Abimelech ordonna à son sujet et concernant tout ce qui était à lui en disant : Tout homme qui le touchera, lui ou la moindre chose qui est à lui, mourra certainement.
13 Et Isaac s’accrut fortement parmi les philistins et il avait beaucoup de possessions, bœufs et moutons et chameaux et ânes et une grande maisonnée.
14 Et il sema sur la terre des philistins qui rapporta 100 fois et Isaac devint extrêmement grand et les philistins l’enviaient.
15 Cependant, tous les puits que les serviteurs d’Abraham avaient creusés dans la vie d’Abraham, les philistins les arrêtèrent et les remplirent de terre après la mort d’Abraham.
16 Et Abimelech dit à Isaac : Sépare-toi de nous, car tu es bien plus puissant que nous.
17 Alors Isaac partit dans la 1e année de la 7e semaine et séjourna dans les vallées de Gerar. Et ils creusèrent de nouveau les puits d’eau que les serviteurs d’Abraham son père avaient creusés et que les philistins avaient bouchés après la mort d’Abraham son père et il nomma leurs noms comme Abraham les a nommés.
18 Et les serviteurs d’Isaac creusèrent un puits dans la vallée et trouva de l’eau vive et les bergers de Gerar contraignirent les bergers de Isaac en disant : L’eau est nôtre.
19 Et Isaac appela le puits du nom de Perversité parce qu’ils avaient été pervers avec nous.
20 Et ils creusèrent un 2e puits et ils contraignirent pour celui-là aussi et il appela son nom Inimitié.
21 Et il partit de là et ils creusèrent un autre puits et ils ne furent pas contraints pour celui-là et il appela son nom Place et Isaac dit : Maintenant, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) a fait place pour nous et nous nous sommes accrus dans le pays.
23 Et il reconstruit là l’autel que son père Abraham avait construit en premier et il invoqua le nom de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) et il fit sacrifice à l'Elohim d’Abraham son père.
24 Et ils creusèrent un puits et trouvèrent de l’eau vive.
25 Et les serviteurs d’Isaac creusèrent un autre puits mais ne trouvèrent pas d’eau et ils allèrent dire à Isaac qu’ils n’avaient pas trouvé d’eau, et Isaac dit : J’ai juré ce jour aux philistins et cette chose nous est annoncée.
26 Et il appela le nom de cet endroit le puits du serment, car là il avait juré à Abimelech et son ami Ahuzzath et Phicol le préfet de sa maison.
27 Et Isaac savait qu’il leur a juré sous la contrainte ce jour-là pour faire la paix avec eux.
29 Et quiconque s’échappe de l’épée de l’ennemi et du kittim que la juste nation le déracine en jugement sous le ciel, car ils seront les ennemis et les adversaires de mes enfants à travers leurs générations sur la terre.
30 Et aucun reste ne leur restera, ni aucun ne sera sauvé au jour de la colère du jugement mais destruction, déracinement et expulsion de la terre sont pour la semence entière des philistins [seuls] et il ne restera plus rien de ces caphtorim, ni nom ou semence sur la terre.
31 Car penser qu’il monte au ciel - alors il sera rabaissé, et penser qu’il s’est fortifié sur terre - alors il sera traîné, et penser qu’il se cache parmi les nations - même de là il sera déraciné, et penser qu’il descend au sheol - là aussi sa condamnation sera grande et là aussi il n’aura pas de paix.
32 Et s’il va en captivité, par les mains de ceux qui cherchent sa vie, il sera frappé sur le chemin et aucun nom ni semence lui sera laissé sur toute la terre, car il sera imparti de la malédiction éternelle.
33 Et voici, cela est écrit et gravé le concernant sur les tablettes célestes quoi lui faire le jour du jugement pour qu’il soit déraciné de la terre.
ויהי אחרי מות אברהם ויברך אלוהים את יצחק בנו ויקם מחברון ויסע הלאה:
And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that the Lord blessed Isaac his son, and he arose from Hebron and went
וישב עם באר לחי רואי בשנה הראשונה לשבוע השלישי וליובל ההוא שבע שנים ימים:
and dwelt at the Well of the Vision in the first year of the third week of this jubilee, seven years.
ובשנה הראשונה לשבוע הרביעי החל רעב בארץ מלבד הרעב הראשון אשר היה בימי אברהם:
And in the first year of the fourth week a famine began in the land, besides the first famine, which had been in the days of Abraham.
ויזד יעקב נזיד ויבוא עשו מן השדה והוא רעב:
And Jacob sod lentil pottage, and Esau came from the field hungry.
ויאמר אל יעקב אחיו תנה לי מפרי הנזיד הזה ויאמר יעקב אליו מכרה את בכורתך לי ואתן לך לחם וגם מפרי הנזיד הזה:
And he said to Jacob his brother: "Give me of this red pottage." And Jacob said to him: "Sell to me thy [primogeniture, this] birthright and I will give thee bread, and also some of this lentil pottage."
ויאמר עשו בלבו הנה אנוכי הולך למות למה זה לי בכורה:
And Esau said in his heart: "I shall die; of what profit to me is this birthright?"
ויאמר אל יעקב נתתיה לך ויאמר יעקב השבעה לי וישבע לו:
And he said to Jacob: "I give it to thee."
And Jacob said "Swear to me, this day," and he sware unto him.
ויעקב נתן לעשו אחיו לחם והנזיד ויאכל וישבע ויבז עשו את הבכורה:
And Jacob gave his brother Esau bread and pottage, and he ate till he was satisfied, and Esau despised his birthright;
על כן קרא שם עשו גם אדום על דבר אודם פרי הנזיד אשר נתן לו יעקב בבכורתו:
for this reason was Esau's name called Edom, on account of the red pottage which Jacob gave him for his birthright.
ויהי יעקב הבכור ועשו אבד יתרו:
And Jacob became the elder, and Esau was brought down from his dignity.
ויהיה הרעב בארץ ויבוא יצחק לרדת מצרימה בשנה השנית לשבוע ההוא:
And the famine was over the land, and Isaac departed to go down into Egypt in the second year of this week,
וילך אל מלך פלשתים גררה אל אבימלך:
and went to the king of the Philistines to Gerar, unto Abimelech.
וירא אליו ה' ויאמר אליו אל תרד מצרימה שכון בארץ אשר אומר אליך:
And the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him: "Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land that I shall tell thee of,
וגור בארץ ההיא אנוכי אהיה עמך ואברכך כי לך ולזרעך אתן את כל הארץ הזאת והקמותי את שבועתי אשר נשבעתי לאברהם אביך:
and sojourn in this land, and I shall be with thee and bless thee. For to thee and to thy seed shall I give all this land, and I shall establish My oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father,
והרביתי את זרעך ככוכבי השמים ונתתי לזרעך את כל הארץ הזאת והתברכו בזרעך כל גויי הארץ:
and I shall multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and shall give unto thy seed all this land.
And in thy seed will all the nations of the earth be blessed,
עקב אשר שמע אביך בקולי וישמור דברי ומצוותי וחוקי וחוקה וברית:
because thy father obeyed My voice, and kept My charge and My commandments, and My laws, and My ordinances, and My covenant;
ועתה שמע גם אתה בקולי ושמור מצוותי וגור בארץ הזאת:
and now obey My voice and dwell in this land."
וישב בגרר שלושה שבועים:
And he dwelt in Gerar three weeks of years.
ויצו אבימלך עליו ועל כל אשר לו לאמור הנוגע בו ובכל אשר לו מות יומת:
And Abimelech charged concerning him, and concerning all that was his, saying: "Any man that shall touch him or aught that is his shall surely die."
ויגדל יצחק בארץ פלשתים ויהי לו מקנה בקר ומקנה צאן וגמלים ועבודה רבה:
And Isaac waxed strong among the Philistines, and he got many possessions, oxen and sheep and camels and asses and a great household.
ויזרעו בארץ פלשתים וימצא מאה שערים ויגדל יצחק מאוד:
And he sowed in the land of the Philistines and brought in a hundred-fold, and Isaac became exceedingly great,
ויקנאו אותו פלשתים וכל הבארות אשר חפרו נערי אברהם בימי חייו סתמום פלשתים אחרי מות אברהם וימלאום עפר:
and the Philistines envied him.
Now all the wells which the servants of Abraham had dug during the life of Abraham, the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham, and filled them with earth.
ויאמר אבימלך אל יצחק לך מעמנו כי עצמת ממנו מאוד:
And Abimelech said unto Isaac: "Go from us, for thou art much mightier than we";
ויסע משם יצחק בשנה הראשונה לשבוע השביעי ויתהלך בנחלי גרר:
and Isaac departed thence in the first year of the seventh week, and sojourned in the valleys of Gerar.
וישובו ויחפרו את בארות המים אשר חפרו נערי אברהם אביו ויסתמום פלשתים אחרי מות אברהם אביו ויקרא להן שמות כשמות אשר קרא להן אברהם אביו:
And they digged again the wells of water which the servants of Abraham, his father, had digged, and which the Philistines had closed after the death of Abraham his father, and he called their names as Abraham his father had named them.
ויחפרו נערי יצחק בארות בנחל וימצאו מים חיים:
And the servants of Isaac dug a well in the valley, and found living water,
ויריבו רועי גרר עם רועי יצחק לאמור לנו המים ויקרא יצחק שם מקום הבאר ההיא עשק כי התעשקו עמנו:
and the shepherds of Gerar strove with the shepherds of Isaac, saying: "The water is ours "; and Isaac called the name of the well "Perversity," because they had been perverse with us.
ויחפרו באר אחרת ויריבו עליה ויקרא יצחק שמה צוקה:
And they dug a second well, and they strove for that also, and he called its name "Enmity."
ויעתק משם ויחפרו באר אחרת ולא רבו עליה ויקרא שמה רחובות ויאמר יצחק עתה הרחיב ה' לנו:
And he arose from thence and they digged another well, and for that they strove not, and he called the name of it "Room," and Isaac said: "Now the Lord hath made room for us, and we have increased in the land."
ויגדל בארץ ויעל משם באר שבע בשנה הראשונה לשבוע הראשון ליובל הארבעה וארבעים:
And he went up from thence to the Well of the Oath in the first year of the first week in the forty-fourth jubilee.
וירא אליו ה' בלילה ההוא בראש החודש הראשון ויאמר אליו אנוכי אלוהי אברהם אביך אל תירא כי אתך אנוכי וברכתיך והרביתי את זרעך מאוד כחול הים בעבור אברהם עבדי:
And the Lord appeared to him that night, on the new moon of the first month, and said unto him: "I am the God of Abraham thy father; fear not, for I am with thee, and shall bless thee and shall surely multiply thy seed as the sand of the earth, for the sake of Abraham my servant."
ויבן שם מזבח במקום אשר בנה שם בראשונה אברהם אביו ויקרא בשם ה' ויזבח זבח לאלוהי אברהם אביו:
And he built an altar there, which Abraham his father had first built, and he called upon the name of the Lord, and he offered sacrifice to the God of Abraham his father.
ויכרו באר וימצאו מים חיים:
And they digged a well and they found living water.
ויחפרו נערי יצחק עוד באר ולא מצאו מים:
And the servants of Isaac digged another well and did not find water,
וילכו ויגידו ליצחק כי לא מצאו מים ויאמר יצחק נשבעתי היום לפלשתים וזה הדבר:
and they went and told Isaac that they had not found water, and Isaac said: "I have sworn this day to the Philistines and this thing hath been announced to us."
ויקרא את שם המקום ההוא באר שבע כי פה נשבע לאבימלך ואחוזת מרעהו ולפיכל שר צבאו:
And he called the name of that place the "Well of the Oath"; for there he had sworn to Abimelech and Ahuzzath his friend and Phicol the prefect of his host.
וידע יצחק ביום ההוא כי נשבעו לשקר להיות אתם בשלום:
And Isaac knew that day that under constraint he had sworn to them to make peace with them.
ויקלל יצחק ביום ההוא את הפלשתים ויאמר ארורים יהיו הפלשתים ליום אף וחרון מכל העמים:
And Isaac on that day cursed the Philistines and said: "Cursed be the Philistines unto the day of wrath and indignation from the midst of all nations;
יתנם ה' ללעג ולקללה ולאף ולחרון ביד הגוים החטאים ועל ידי החתים יכריתם:
may God make them a derision and a curse and an object of wrath and indignation in the hands of the sinners the Gentiles and in the hands of the Kittim.
והיה הנמלט מחרב האויבים ומהחתים יכרית עם הצדיקים במשפט מתחת השמים:
And whoever escapeth the sword of the enemy and the Kittim, may the righteous nation root out in judgment from under heaven;
כי אויבים ושונאים יהיו לבני בימיהם ובארץ ולא יהיה להם שריד ופליט ולא ימלט איש ביום משפט החרון:
for they will be the enemies and foes of my children throughout their generations upon the earth.
כי אבוד יאבד והכרת יכרת והשמד ישמד מן הארץ כל זרע הפלשתים ולא ימצא כל שריד לו ולא זרע על הארץ:
And no remnant will be left to them, Nor one that will be saved on the day of the wrath of judgment; For for destruction and rooting out and expulsion from the earth is the whole seed of the Philistines (reserved), And there will no longer be left for these Caphtorim a name or a seed on the earth.
אם יעלה השמימה משם ירד ואם יבצר עוזו בארץ ממנה ינתש:
For though he ascend unto heaven, Thence will he be brought down, And though he make himself strong on earth, Thence will he be dragged forth,
ואם יסתר בין העמים גם משם יכרת ואם ירד בגיא צלמות גם שם ענוש יענש ואין שלום לו שם:
And though he hide himself amongst the nations, Even from thence will he be rooted out; And though he descend into Sheol, There also will his condemnation be great, And there also he will have no peace.
ואם ילך בשבי יומת ביד האורבים לנפשו על הדרך:
And if he go into captivity, By the hands of those that seek his life will they slay him on the way,
אל נא תותר לו אל מבורך שם וזרע על כל הארץ כי אם בקללת עולם יתהלך לו:
And neither name nor seed will be left to him on all the earth; For into eternal malediction will he depart."
ונכתב ונחרת עליו בלוחות השמים לעשות לו כן ביום המשפט כי יכרת מן הארץ:
And thus is it written and engraved concerning him on the heavenly tables, to do unto him on the day of judgment, so that he may be rooted out of the earth.
