Yobelim/Jubilés Chapitre 4
1 Et dans la 3e semaine du 2e Jubilé elle donna naissance à Caïn, et dans la 4e elle donna naissance à Abel, et dans la 5e elle donna naissance à sa fille Awan.
2 Et dans la 1e [année] du 3e Jubilé Caïn tua Abel, car [Elohim] accepta le sacrifice d'Abel et n’accepta pas l’offrande de Caïn.
3 Et il tua son frère dans le champ et son sang criait du sol au ciel se plaignant parce qu’il l’avait tué.
4 Et parce qu’Abel avait été tué, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) réprouva Caïn et Il le rendit fugitif sur la terre à cause du sang de son frère et Il le maudit sur la terre.
5 Et à ce sujet il est écrit dans les tablettes célestes : Maudit est celui qui frappe son prochain traitreusement. Et que tout ceux qui ont vu et entendu disent : Qu’il en soit ainsi. Et l’homme qui a vu et ne [le] déclare pas, qu’il soit maudit comme l’autre.
6 Et pour cette raison quand nous venons devant 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) notre Elohim, nous annonçons entièrement tout péché qui est commis au ciel et sur terre et dans la lumière et dans la noirceur et partout.
7 Et Adam et sa femme pleurèrent 4 semaines d’années pour Abel et dans la 4e année de la 5e semaine ils redevinrent joyeux et Adam connut sa femme de nouveau et elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Seth, car il dit : Elohim a élevé pour nous une 2e semence à la place d’Abel que Caïn a tué.
8 Et dans la 6e semaine elle porta sa sœur Azura.

12 Il commença à appeler le Nom de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) sur terre.
13 Et dans la 3e semaine du 7e jubilé Enos prit Noam sa sœur pour être sa femme et dans la 3e année de la 5e semaine elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Kenan.
14 Et à la fin du 8e jubilé Kenan prit Mualeleth sa sœur pour être sa femme.

15 Et dans la 1e semaine du 9e jubilé, la 3e année de cette semaine elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Mahalalel.
16 Et dans la 2e semaine du 10e jubilé Mahalalel prit Dinah pour femme, la fille de Barakiel et fille du frère de son père, et dans la 6e année de la 3e semaine elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Jared, car dans ces jours les Anges de 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH), ceux qui sont appelés les vigiles, descendirent sur la terre afin qu’ils instruisirent les enfants des hommes et qu’ils fassent jugement et justice sur la terre.
17 Et dans la 4e semaine du 11e jubilé Jared prit pour lui une femme et son nom était Baraka, fille de Rasujal, une fille du frère de son père, et dans la 4e année de la 5e semaine du jubilé elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Henoc.
18 Et il était le premier homme parmi les hommes étant nés sur terre qui apprit l’écriture et la connaissance et la sagesse et qui écrivit dans un Livre les signes du ciel selon l’ordre de leurs mois pour que les hommes connaissent les saisons des années suivant l’ordre de partition de leurs mois.
19 Et il fut le premier à écrire un Témoignage et qui témoigna aux fils des hommes parmi les générations de la terre et fit le décompte des semaines des Jubilés, et il leur fit savoir les jours des années et plaça en ordre les mois et décompta les Shabbats des années comme nous lui avons fait savoir. Et ce qu’il a vu dans une vision de son sommeil, ce qui était et qui sera, ce qui arrivera aux enfants des hommes à travers leurs descendances jusqu’au jour du jugement : Il vit et comprit toute chose et écrit son Témoignage et plaça le Témoignage sur terre pour tous les enfants des hommes pour leurs générations.

20 Et ces 6 Jubilés d’années il était plus souvent avec les Anges d'Elohim qui lui montrèrent toute chose sur terre, dans les cieux et la gouverne du soleil, et il écrivit tout.
21 Et il témoigna des vigiles qui avaient péché avec les filles des hommes, car ces derniers avaient commencé à s’unir et se souiller avec les filles des hommes, et Henoc témoigna contre eux [tous] et fut pris d’entre les enfants des hommes et nous le conduisîmes dans le jardin d’Éden avec dignité et honneur et observant de là, il écrivit la condamnation et le jugement du monde et toute la cruauté des enfants des hommes ; raison pourquoi Elohim amena les eaux du déluge sur toute la terre d’Éden.
22 Et il fut placé là en signe pour être témoin contre tous les enfants des hommes pour que se fasse le compte de toutes les actions des générations jusqu’au jour de condamnation. Et il brûla l’encens du sanctuaire, des épices douces acceptables devant 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) sur la montagne.
23 Car 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) avait 4 endroits sur la terre, le jardin d’Éden et le mont de l’EST et le mont Sinaï cette montagne sur laquelle tu es en ce jour, et le mont Zion, [qui] sera consacré dans la nouvelle création pour une sanctification sur la terre par laquelle la terre sera absoute de toute [sa] faute et de son impureté à travers les générations du monde.

23 Car 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) avait 4 endroits sur la terre, le jardin d’Éden et le mont de l’EST et le mont Sinaï cette montagne sur laquelle tu es en ce jour, et le mont Zion, [qui] sera consacré dans la nouvelle création pour une sanctification sur la terre par laquelle la terre sera absoute de toute [sa] faute et de son impureté à travers les générations du monde.
24 Et dans la 7e semaine du 12e jubilé il prit pour lui une femme et son nom était Edna, fille de Danel, fille du frère de son père, et dans la 6e année de cette semaine elle lui porta un fils et il appela son nom Methuselah.
25 Et dans le 14e jubilé Methuselah prit Edna pour femme, la fille d’Azrial, fille du frère de son père, et dans la 3e semaine, la 1e année de cette semaine, elle porta un fils et appela son nom Lamech.
26 Et dans la 3e semaine du 15e jubilé Lamech prit pour lui une femme et son nom était Betenos, fille de Barakiil, fille du frère de son père, et dans cette semaine, elle porta un fils et il appela son nom Noah en disant : Cet être me consolera de mon malheur et de tout mon travail et pour le sol que 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YHWH) a maudit.
27 Et dans la 6e année de la 7e semaine en fin du 19e jubilé, Adam mourut alors et tous ses fils l’enterrèrent dans la terre de sa création et il fut le premier à être enterré sur la terre. Et il lui manquait 70 ans sur mille années, car milles ans sont comme un jour dans le témoignage des cieux et comme il est écrit concernant l’arbre de la connaissance : Le jour que tu en mangeras, tu mourras. Pour cette raison il ne compléta pas les années de ce jour, car il mourut avant.
28 À la fin de ce jubilé après lui Caïn fut tué dans la même année quand sa maison tomba sur lui et il mourut au milieu de sa maison, tué par ses pierres parce qu’il avait tué Abel avec une pierre, par une pierre il fut tué en juste jugement. Pour cette raison cela fut ordonné sur les tablettes célestes : Par l’instrument avec lequel un homme tue son prochain, par le même il sera tué ; de la manière qu’il l’a blessé, de la même manière ils feront pour lui.
28 À la fin de ce jubilé après lui Caïn fut tué dans la même année quand sa maison tomba sur lui et il mourut au milieu de sa maison, tué par ses pierres parce qu’il avait tué Abel avec une pierre, par une pierre il fut tué en juste jugement. Pour cette raison cela fut ordonné sur les tablettes célestes : Par l’instrument avec lequel un homme tue son prochain, par le même il sera tué ; de la manière qu’il l’a blessé, de la même manière ils feront pour lui.
29 Et dans la 1e année de la 5e semaine du 25e jubilé, Noah prit pour lui une femme et son nom était Emzara, fille de Rakeel, fille du frère de son père, et dans la 3e année elle lui porta Shem, dans la 5e année elle lui porta Ham, et dans la 1e année de la 6e semaine elle lui porta Japheth.

ובשבוע השלישי ליובל השני ילדה את קין וברביעי ילדה את הבל ובחמישי ילדה את בתה און:
And in the third week in the second jubilee she gave birth to Cain, and in the fourth she gave birth to Abel, and in the fifth she gave birth to her daughter ’Âwân.
ובשבוע הראשון ליובל השלישי הרג קין את הבל על כי לקח ה' מידו מנחה לרצון ומיד קין לא לקח לרצון מנחת פרי האדמה..:
And in the first (year) of the third jubilee, Cain slew Abel because (God) accepted the sacrifice of Abel, and did not accept the offering of Cain.
וימיתהו על השדה ודמיו צעקו מן האדמה השמימה בנאקתו כי נפל חלל:
And he slew him in the field: and his blood cried from the ground to heaven, complaining because he had slain him.
וישפט ה' את קין על הבל אשר הרג וישימהו נע ונד בארץ מדמי אחיו ויקללהו מן האדמה:
And the Lord reproved Cain because of Abel, because he had slain him, and he made him a fugitive on the earth because of the blood of his brother, and he cursed him upon the earth.
לכן כתוב על לוחות השמים לאמור ארור מכה רעהו בזדון וכל הרואים בו יאמרו אמן:
And on this account it is written on the heavenly tables, "Cursed is he who smiteth his neighbour treacherously, and let all who have seen and heard say, So be it;
והאיש אשר יראהו והחריש מלענות בו ארור כמוהו:
and the man who hath seen and not declared (it), let him be
accursed as the other."
לכן בוא נבוא לענות לפני ה' אלהינו על כל החטאים אשר נעשו בשמים ובארץ באור ובחושך ובכל מקום:
And for this reason we announce when we come before the Lord our God all the sin which is committed in heaven and on earth, and in light and in darkness, and everywhere.
ויבכו האדם ואשתו את הבל ארבעה שבועים:
And Adam and his wife mourned for Abel four weeks of years,
ובשנה הרביעית לשבוע החמישי התנחם וידע עוד את אשתו ותלד לו בן ויקרא את שמו שת כי אמר שת לנו אלהים זרע אחר על הארץ תחת הבל כי הרגו קין:
and in the fourth year of the fifth week they became joyful, and Adam knew his wife again, and she bare him a son, and he called his name Seth; for he said "God hath raised up a second seed unto us on the earth instead of Abel; for Cain slew him."
ובשבוע הששי הוליד את בתו עצורה:
And in the sixth week he begat his daughter ’Azûrâ.
ויקח קין את אחותו און לו לאשה ותלד לו את חנוך מקץ היובל הרביעי:
And Cain took ’Âwân his sister to be his wife and she bare him Enoch at the close of the fourth jubilee.
ובשנה הראשונה לשבוע הראשון ליובל החמישי נבנו בתים על האדמה ויהי קין בונה עיר ויקרא שמה כשם בנו חנוך:
And in the first year of the first week of the fifth jubilee, houses were built on the earth, and Cain built a city, and called its name after the name of his son Enoch.
והאדם ידע את חוה אשתו ותלד עוד תשעה בנים:
And Adam knew Eve his wife and she bare yet nine sons.
ובשבוע החמישי ליובל לקח שת את אחותו עצור לו לאשה ותלד לו בשנה הרביעית את אנוש הוא החל לקרא בשם ה' על הארץ:
And in the fifth week of the fifth jubilee Seth took ’Azûrâ his sister to be his wife, and in the fourth (year of the sixth week) she bare him Enos.
He began to call on the name of the Lord on the earth.
וביובל השביעי בשבוע השלישי לקח אנוש את אחותו נעמה לו לאשה ותלד לו בן בשנה השלישית לשבוע החמישי ויקרא את שמו קינן:
And in the seventh jubilee in the third week Enos took Nôâm his sister to be his wife, and she bare him a son in the third year of the fifth week, and he called his name Kenan.
ומקץ היובל השמיני לקח קינן את אחותו מהללאית לו לאשה ותלד לו בן ביובל התשיעי בשבוע הראשון בשנה השלישית לשבוע ויקרא את שמו מהללאל:
And at the close of the eighth jubilee Kenan took Mûalêlêth his sister to be his wife, and she bare him a son in the ninth jubilee, in the first week in the third year of this week, and he called his name Mahalalel.
ובשבוע השני ליובל העשירי לקח מהללאל את דינה בת ברכאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה ותלד לו בן בשבוע השלישי בשנה השישית ויקרא את שמו ירד:
And in the second week of the tenth jubilee Mahalalel took unto him to wife Dînâh, the daughter of Barâkî’êl the daughter of his father's brother, and she bare him a son in the third week in the sixth year, and he called his name Jared;
כי בימיו ירדו מלאכי ה' הנקראים שומרים על הארץ ללמד את בני אדם משפט ומישרים לעשותם בארץ:
for in his days the angels of the Lord descended on the earth, those who are named the Watchers, that they should instruct the children of men, and that they should do judgment and uprightness on the earth.
וביובל העשתי עשר לקח לו ירד לאשה את בכה בת רצוצאל בת אחות אביו בשבוע הרביעי ליובל הזה:
And in the eleventh jubilee Jared took to himself a wife, and her name was Bâraka, the daughter of Râsûjâl, a daughter of his father's brother, in the fourth week of this jubilee,
ותלד לו בן בשבוע החמישי בשנה הרביעית ליובל ויקרא את שמו חנוך:
and she bare him a son in the fifth week, in the fourth year of the jubilee, and he called his name Enoch.
הוא היה הראשון מבני אדם הילודים על הארץ אשר למד את הכתב את הדעת ואת החכמה:
And he was the first among men that are born on earth who learnt writing and knowledge and wisdom
ויכתוב את אותות השמים לסדר חדשיהם בספר למען ידעו בני אדם את עת השנים לסדרי חודש וחודש במספרם:
and who wrote down the signs of heaven according to the order of their months in a book, that men might know the seasons of the years according to the order of their separate months.
ויכתב בראשונה עדות ויתן לבני אדם עדות על משפחות האדמה וילמדם לדעת שבועי היובלים ויודיעם את ימי השנים ויערוך את החודשים ואת שבתות השנה הואיל באר להם כאשר הראינו לו לדעת:
And he was the first to write a testimony, and he testified to the sons of men among the generations of the earth, and recounted the weeks of the jubilees, and made known to them the days of the years, and set in order the months and recounted the Sabbaths of the years as we made (them) known to him.
ואת שכבר היה ואת אשר בוא יבוא באחרית הימים ראה בחלומו את אשר יקרה את בני האדם לדורותיהם עד יום המשפט:
And what was and what will be he saw in a vision of his sleep, as it will happen to the children of men throughout their generations until the day of judgment;
את הכל ראה והבין וכתב בספר לעדות וישם אותו לעדות על הארץ לכל בני האדם ולדורותיהם:
he saw and understood everything, and wrote his testimony, and placed the testimony on earth for all the children of men and for their generations.
וביובל השנים עשר בשבוע השביעי לקח לו לאשה את עדני בת דניאל בת אחות אביו ובשנה השישית לשבוע הזה ילדה לו בן ויקרא את שמו מתושלח:
And in the twelfth jubilee, in the seventh week thereof, he took to himself a wife, and her name was Ednî, the daughter of Dânêl, the daughter of his father's brother, and in the sixth year in this week she bare him a son and he called his name Methuselah.
ויהיה בקרב מלאכי אלוהים שש שנים ויראוהו את כל אשר על הארץ ובשמים ממשלת השמש ויכתוב הכל בספר:
And he was moreover with the angels of God these six jubilees of years, and they showed him everything which is on earth and in the heavens, the rule of the sun, and he wrote down everything.
וישם עדות לענות בשומרים אשר חטאו בבנות האדם:
And he testified to the Watchers, who had sinned with the daughters of men;
כי המה החלו להתערב ולהטמא בבנות האדם ויקם חנוך לעד בכולם:
for these had begun to unite themselves, so as to be defiled, with the daughters of men, and Enoch testified against (them) all.
וילקח מתוך בני האדם ונביא אותו אל גן העדן לכבוד ולתפארת:
And he was taken from amongst the children of men, and we conducted him into the Garden of Eden in majesty and honour,
והנהו כותב פה בספר את פתשגן הדין ואת העונש לצמיתות וכל רעת יוצאי חלצי בני האדם:
and behold there he writeth down the condemnation and judgment of the world, and all the wickedness of the children of men.
ובעבורו הביא ה' את המבול על הארץ כי הושם לאות לעד והוא יענה בכל זרע בני איש להזכיר את כל מעללי הדורות עד יום המשפט:
And on account of it (God) brought the waters of the flood upon all the land of Eden; for there he was set as a sign and that he should testify against all the children of men, that he should recount all the deeds of the generations until the day of condemnation.
ויקרב קטורת לה לרצון על הר הנגב כי בארבע מקומות בחר ה' על הארץ:
And he burnt the incense of the sanctuary, (even) sweet spices, acceptable before the Lord on the Mount.
הלא המה גן העדן והר הקדם וההר הזה אשר אתה עומד עליו היום הוא הר סיני והר ציון אשר יקדש בבריאה החדשה לקדושת הארץ:
For the Lord hath four places on the earth, the Garden of Eden, and the Mount of the East, and this mountain on which thou art this day, Mount Sinai, and Mount Zion (which) will be sanctified in the new creation for a sanctification of the earth;
בו תתקדש הארץ מכל אשמה ומכל טומאתה לעולם ועד:
through it will the earth be sanctified from all (its) guilt and its uncleanness throughout the generations of the world.
וביובל הארבעה עשר לקח מתושלח את עדין בת עזריאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה בשבוע השלישי בשנה הראשונה ויולד בן ויקרא את שמו למך:
And in the fourteenth jubilee Methuselah took unto himself a wife, Ednâ the daughter of ’Âzrîâl, the daughter of his father's brother, in the third week, in the first year of this week, and he begat a son and called his name Lamech.
וביובל החמשה עשר בשבוע השלישי לקח לו למך אשה ושמה ביתנה בת ברכאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה ובשבוע הזה ילדה לו בן:
And in the fifteenth jubilee in the third week Lamech took to himself a wife, and her name was Bêtênôs the daughter of Bârâkî’îl, the daughter of his father's brother, and in this week she bare him a son
ויקרא את שמו נוח לאמור זה ינחמני מכל עצבוני ומן האדמה אשר אררה ה':
and he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort me for my trouble and all my work, and for the ground which the Lord hath cursed."
ומקץ יובל התשעה עשר בשבוע השביעי בשנה השישית בו מת האדם וכל בניו קברוהו בארץ אשר נברא שם והוא היה הראשון אשר נקבר בארץ:
And at the close of the nineteenth jubilee, in the seventh week in the sixth year thereof, Adam died, and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation, and he was the first to be buried in the earth.
וימת שבעים שנה לפני מלאת לו אלף שנים כי אלף שנים כיום אחד לפי העדות אשר בשמים:
And he lacked seventy years of one thousand years; for one thousand years are as one day in the testimony of the heavens
לכן כתוב על עץ הדעת לאמור ביום אכלכם ממנו תמותו:
and therefore was it written concerning the tree of knowledge: "On the day that ye eat thereof ye will die."
על כן לא מלאו לו שנות היום ההוא כי אם מת בו:
For this reason he did not complete the years of this day; for he died during it.
ומקץ היובל הזה הומת קין אחריו בשנה ההיא ביתו נפל עליו וימת בתוך ביתו ויומת בקרב אבניו:
At the close of this jubilee Cain was killed after him in the same year; for his house fell upon him and he died in the midst of his house, and he was killed by its stones,
כי באבן המית את הבל ובאבן הומת גם הוא על פי משפט הצדק:
for with a stone he had killed Abel, and by a stone was he killed in righteous judgment.
לכן חרות על לוחות השמים לאמור בדבר אשר המית איש את רעהו בו יומת כאשר נתן מום בעמיתו כן יעשו לו:
For this reason it was ordained on the heavenly tables: "With the instrument with which a man killeth his neighbour with the same shall he be killed; after the manner that he wounded him, in like manner shall they deal with him."
וביובל החמשה ועשרים לקח לו נוח אשה ושמה אמצרה בת רקעיאל בת אחותו לו לאשה בשנה הראשונה בשבוע החמישי:
And in the twenty-fifth jubilee Noah took to himself a wife, and her name was ’Ĕmzârâ, the daughter of Râkê’êl, the daughter of his father's brother, in the first year in the fifth week:
ובשנה השלישית בו ילדה לו את שם ובשנה החמשית ילדה לו את חם ובשנה הראשונה לשבוע הששי ילדה לו את יפת:
and in the third year thereof she bare him Shem, in the fifth year thereof she bare him Ham, and in the first year in the sixth week she bare him Japheth.
ובשבוע השלישי ליובל השני ילדה את קין וברביעי ילדה את הבל ובחמישי ילדה את בתה און:
And in the third week in the second jubilee she gave birth to Cain, and in the fourth she gave birth to Abel, and in the fifth she gave birth to her daughter ’Âwân.
ובשבוע הראשון ליובל השלישי הרג קין את הבל על כי לקח ה' מידו מנחה לרצון ומיד קין לא לקח לרצון מנחת פרי האדמה..:
And in the first (year) of the third jubilee, Cain slew Abel because (God) accepted the sacrifice of Abel, and did not accept the offering of Cain.
וימיתהו על השדה ודמיו צעקו מן האדמה השמימה בנאקתו כי נפל חלל:
And he slew him in the field: and his blood cried from the ground to heaven, complaining because he had slain him.
וישפט ה' את קין על הבל אשר הרג וישימהו נע ונד בארץ מדמי אחיו ויקללהו מן האדמה:
And the Lord reproved Cain because of Abel, because he had slain him, and he made him a fugitive on the earth because of the blood of his brother, and he cursed him upon the earth.
לכן כתוב על לוחות השמים לאמור ארור מכה רעהו בזדון וכל הרואים בו יאמרו אמן:
And on this account it is written on the heavenly tables, "Cursed is he who smiteth his neighbour treacherously, and let all who have seen and heard say, So be it;
והאיש אשר יראהו והחריש מלענות בו ארור כמוהו:
and the man who hath seen and not declared (it), let him be
accursed as the other."
לכן בוא נבוא לענות לפני ה' אלהינו על כל החטאים אשר נעשו בשמים ובארץ באור ובחושך ובכל מקום:
And for this reason we announce when we come before the Lord our God all the sin which is committed in heaven and on earth, and in light and in darkness, and everywhere.
ויבכו האדם ואשתו את הבל ארבעה שבועים:
And Adam and his wife mourned for Abel four weeks of years,
ובשנה הרביעית לשבוע החמישי התנחם וידע עוד את אשתו ותלד לו בן ויקרא את שמו שת כי אמר שת לנו אלהים זרע אחר על הארץ תחת הבל כי הרגו קין:
and in the fourth year of the fifth week they became joyful, and Adam knew his wife again, and she bare him a son, and he called his name Seth; for he said "God hath raised up a second seed unto us on the earth instead of Abel; for Cain slew him."
ובשבוע הששי הוליד את בתו עצורה:
And in the sixth week he begat his daughter ’Azûrâ.
ויקח קין את אחותו און לו לאשה ותלד לו את חנוך מקץ היובל הרביעי:
And Cain took ’Âwân his sister to be his wife and she bare him Enoch at the close of the fourth jubilee.
ובשנה הראשונה לשבוע הראשון ליובל החמישי נבנו בתים על האדמה ויהי קין בונה עיר ויקרא שמה כשם בנו חנוך:
And in the first year of the first week of the fifth jubilee, houses were built on the earth, and Cain built a city, and called its name after the name of his son Enoch.
והאדם ידע את חוה אשתו ותלד עוד תשעה בנים:
And Adam knew Eve his wife and she bare yet nine sons.
ובשבוע החמישי ליובל לקח שת את אחותו עצור לו לאשה ותלד לו בשנה הרביעית את אנוש הוא החל לקרא בשם ה' על הארץ:
And in the fifth week of the fifth jubilee Seth took ’Azûrâ his sister to be his wife, and in the fourth (year of the sixth week) she bare him Enos.

And in the seventh jubilee in the third week Enos took Nôâm his sister to be his wife, and she bare him a son in the third year of the fifth week, and he called his name Kenan.
ומקץ היובל השמיני לקח קינן את אחותו מהללאית לו לאשה ותלד לו בן ביובל התשיעי בשבוע הראשון בשנה השלישית לשבוע ויקרא את שמו מהללאל:
And at the close of the eighth jubilee Kenan took Mûalêlêth his sister to be his wife, and she bare him a son in the ninth jubilee, in the first week in the third year of this week, and he called his name Mahalalel.
ובשבוע השני ליובל העשירי לקח מהללאל את דינה בת ברכאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה ותלד לו בן בשבוע השלישי בשנה השישית ויקרא את שמו ירד:
And in the second week of the tenth jubilee Mahalalel took unto him to wife Dînâh, the daughter of Barâkî’êl the daughter of his father's brother, and she bare him a son in the third week in the sixth year, and he called his name Jared;
כי בימיו ירדו מלאכי ה' הנקראים שומרים על הארץ ללמד את בני אדם משפט ומישרים לעשותם בארץ:
for in his days the angels of the Lord descended on the earth, those who are named the Watchers, that they should instruct the children of men, and that they should do judgment and uprightness on the earth.
וביובל העשתי עשר לקח לו ירד לאשה את בכה בת רצוצאל בת אחות אביו בשבוע הרביעי ליובל הזה:
And in the eleventh jubilee Jared took to himself a wife, and her name was Bâraka, the daughter of Râsûjâl, a daughter of his father's brother, in the fourth week of this jubilee,
ותלד לו בן בשבוע החמישי בשנה הרביעית ליובל ויקרא את שמו חנוך:
and she bare him a son in the fifth week, in the fourth year of the jubilee, and he called his name Enoch.
הוא היה הראשון מבני אדם הילודים על הארץ אשר למד את הכתב את הדעת ואת החכמה:
And he was the first among men that are born on earth who learnt writing and knowledge and wisdom
ויכתוב את אותות השמים לסדר חדשיהם בספר למען ידעו בני אדם את עת השנים לסדרי חודש וחודש במספרם:
and who wrote down the signs of heaven according to the order of their months in a book, that men might know the seasons of the years according to the order of their separate months.
ויכתב בראשונה עדות ויתן לבני אדם עדות על משפחות האדמה וילמדם לדעת שבועי היובלים ויודיעם את ימי השנים ויערוך את החודשים ואת שבתות השנה הואיל באר להם כאשר הראינו לו לדעת:
And he was the first to write a testimony, and he testified to the sons of men among the generations of the earth, and recounted the weeks of the jubilees, and made known to them the days of the years, and set in order the months and recounted the Sabbaths of the years as we made (them) known to him.
ואת שכבר היה ואת אשר בוא יבוא באחרית הימים ראה בחלומו את אשר יקרה את בני האדם לדורותיהם עד יום המשפט:
And what was and what will be he saw in a vision of his sleep, as it will happen to the children of men throughout their generations until the day of judgment;
את הכל ראה והבין וכתב בספר לעדות וישם אותו לעדות על הארץ לכל בני האדם ולדורותיהם:
he saw and understood everything, and wrote his testimony, and placed the testimony on earth for all the children of men and for their generations.
וביובל השנים עשר בשבוע השביעי לקח לו לאשה את עדני בת דניאל בת אחות אביו ובשנה השישית לשבוע הזה ילדה לו בן ויקרא את שמו מתושלח:
And in the twelfth jubilee, in the seventh week thereof, he took to himself a wife, and her name was Ednî, the daughter of Dânêl, the daughter of his father's brother, and in the sixth year in this week she bare him a son and he called his name Methuselah.
ויהיה בקרב מלאכי אלוהים שש שנים ויראוהו את כל אשר על הארץ ובשמים ממשלת השמש ויכתוב הכל בספר:
And he was moreover with the angels of God these six jubilees of years, and they showed him everything which is on earth and in the heavens, the rule of the sun, and he wrote down everything.
וישם עדות לענות בשומרים אשר חטאו בבנות האדם:
And he testified to the Watchers, who had sinned with the daughters of men;
כי המה החלו להתערב ולהטמא בבנות האדם ויקם חנוך לעד בכולם:
for these had begun to unite themselves, so as to be defiled, with the daughters of men, and Enoch testified against (them) all.
וילקח מתוך בני האדם ונביא אותו אל גן העדן לכבוד ולתפארת:
And he was taken from amongst the children of men, and we conducted him into the Garden of Eden in majesty and honour,
והנהו כותב פה בספר את פתשגן הדין ואת העונש לצמיתות וכל רעת יוצאי חלצי בני האדם:
and behold there he writeth down the condemnation and judgment of the world, and all the wickedness of the children of men.
ובעבורו הביא ה' את המבול על הארץ כי הושם לאות לעד והוא יענה בכל זרע בני איש להזכיר את כל מעללי הדורות עד יום המשפט:
And on account of it (God) brought the waters of the flood upon all the land of Eden; for there he was set as a sign and that he should testify against all the children of men, that he should recount all the deeds of the generations until the day of condemnation.
ויקרב קטורת לה לרצון על הר הנגב כי בארבע מקומות בחר ה' על הארץ:
And he burnt the incense of the sanctuary, (even) sweet spices, acceptable before the Lord on the Mount.
הלא המה גן העדן והר הקדם וההר הזה אשר אתה עומד עליו היום הוא הר סיני והר ציון אשר יקדש בבריאה החדשה לקדושת הארץ:
For the Lord hath four places on the earth, the Garden of Eden, and the Mount of the East, and this mountain on which thou art this day, Mount Sinai, and Mount Zion (which) will be sanctified in the new creation for a sanctification of the earth;
בו תתקדש הארץ מכל אשמה ומכל טומאתה לעולם ועד:
through it will the earth be sanctified from all (its) guilt and its uncleanness throughout the generations of the world.
וביובל הארבעה עשר לקח מתושלח את עדין בת עזריאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה בשבוע השלישי בשנה הראשונה ויולד בן ויקרא את שמו למך:
And in the fourteenth jubilee Methuselah took unto himself a wife, Ednâ the daughter of ’Âzrîâl, the daughter of his father's brother, in the third week, in the first year of this week, and he begat a son and called his name Lamech.
וביובל החמשה עשר בשבוע השלישי לקח לו למך אשה ושמה ביתנה בת ברכאל בת אחות אביו לו לאשה ובשבוע הזה ילדה לו בן:
And in the fifteenth jubilee in the third week Lamech took to himself a wife, and her name was Bêtênôs the daughter of Bârâkî’îl, the daughter of his father's brother, and in this week she bare him a son
ויקרא את שמו נוח לאמור זה ינחמני מכל עצבוני ומן האדמה אשר אררה ה':
and he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will comfort me for my trouble and all my work, and for the ground which the Lord hath cursed."
ומקץ יובל התשעה עשר בשבוע השביעי בשנה השישית בו מת האדם וכל בניו קברוהו בארץ אשר נברא שם והוא היה הראשון אשר נקבר בארץ:
And at the close of the nineteenth jubilee, in the seventh week in the sixth year thereof, Adam died, and all his sons buried him in the land of his creation, and he was the first to be buried in the earth.
וימת שבעים שנה לפני מלאת לו אלף שנים כי אלף שנים כיום אחד לפי העדות אשר בשמים:
And he lacked seventy years of one thousand years; for one thousand years are as one day in the testimony of the heavens
לכן כתוב על עץ הדעת לאמור ביום אכלכם ממנו תמותו:
and therefore was it written concerning the tree of knowledge: "On the day that ye eat thereof ye will die."
על כן לא מלאו לו שנות היום ההוא כי אם מת בו:
For this reason he did not complete the years of this day; for he died during it.
ומקץ היובל הזה הומת קין אחריו בשנה ההיא ביתו נפל עליו וימת בתוך ביתו ויומת בקרב אבניו:
At the close of this jubilee Cain was killed after him in the same year; for his house fell upon him and he died in the midst of his house, and he was killed by its stones,
כי באבן המית את הבל ובאבן הומת גם הוא על פי משפט הצדק:
for with a stone he had killed Abel, and by a stone was he killed in righteous judgment.
לכן חרות על לוחות השמים לאמור בדבר אשר המית איש את רעהו בו יומת כאשר נתן מום בעמיתו כן יעשו לו:
For this reason it was ordained on the heavenly tables: "With the instrument with which a man killeth his neighbour with the same shall he be killed; after the manner that he wounded him, in like manner shall they deal with him."
וביובל החמשה ועשרים לקח לו נוח אשה ושמה אמצרה בת רקעיאל בת אחותו לו לאשה בשנה הראשונה בשבוע החמישי:
